ORIGIN Maureen McCormick is an American actress, singer, and author. She’s best known for her role as “Marcia Brady” in the television sitcom, The Brady Bunch. McCormick was born to parents Richard and Irene on August 5, 1956, in Encino, California. She has three older siblings, Kevin, Michael, and Dennis. McCormick was a student of William Howard Taft Charter High School.

CAREER McCormick developed an interest in dancing and singing at a young age. She competed and won the Baby Miss San Fernando contest when she was 6 years old. McCormick landed her first major gig in Mattel’s 1964 commercials for Barbie and Chatty Cathy dolls. She followed up with small television roles in series like The Farmer’s Daughter, Bewitched, Camp Runamuck, and My Three Sons.

In 1969, McCormick auditioned and landed her breakthrough role as “Marcia Brady” in the ABC sitcom, The Brady Bunch. She appeared in 116 episodes from 1969 to 1974. The role of Marcia Brady was reprised in The Brady Bunch Hour (1976–77), The Brady Brides (1981), and the television film A Very Brady Christmas (1988). Other television appearances by McCormick include The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Teen Angel, and Son of the Beach. She and professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev are slated to compete on season 23 of Dancing with the Stars.

As a recording artist, McCormick released four albums with the Brady Bunch cast. Her debut solo album, When You Get a Little Lonely, was released in 1995 by Phantom Hill Records. Her autobiography ‘Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice’ was published in 2008.
