mraccountant M Could someone please tell me how they measure the rear leg room on a car. That is the most important figure for me because I have gotten use to the space in my 2000 DTS. What does anyone consider to be a minimum amount of leg room for confort based on the method that is used to figure the leg room. Thanks Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Oct 8, 2004 Front leg room is the distance from the heel of the driver's accelerator foot to the seatback. Rear leg room is the horizontal distance between the rear and front seatback, with front leg room set at 40 inches. These are measured using a 5' 9" passenger as a guide. That said, here is how the STS compares to some cars you may be familiar with: Cadillac STS Leg Room (front)..................... 42.6 Leg Room (rear)..................... 38.3 Head room (front).....................38.7 Head Room (rear)....................37.9 Cadillac CTS Leg Room (front)...................42.4 Leg Room (rear)....................36.2 Head Room (front).................38.9 Head Room (rear)..................36.9 Cadillac DTS Leg Room (front).....................42.4 Leg Room (rear)......................43.2 Head Room (front)...................39.1 Head Room (rear)....................38.4 Chrysler 300C Leg Room (front).....................41.8 Leg Room (rear)......................40.2 Headroom (front).....................38.7 Headroom (rear)......................38.0 #3 · Oct 8, 2004 mraccountant, You may also want to consider the SRX it has 41" of rear legroom. greater than both the CTS and STS. I find it hard to believe the DTS has 43" of rear legroom. I know that I can barely fit in the front seat due to the knee pad on the dash. The backseat doesn't look huge in that car. The CTS has more front legroom in my opinion. Insert Quotes Post Reply
