Go back to my question macOS Earlier Operating Systems User profile for user: nomilkincarbonara nomilkincarbonara Author User level: Level 1 20 points Message "Error while installing"

Whenever I start my Macbook, "Error while installing" shows and it says "Expecting value: line 1 column 1(char 0)". I don't use any coding languages like python.

Please let me know how to get rid of it. Thanks.

Just been in Apple support Chat

I ran Malware Bytes

https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

It detected one third part Malware file and some adware files

The Malware file path was Library/ApplicationSupport/.77B8A707-D8A5-4FBA-AAB9-7475351FDC70

Quarantined the Malware file (along with some adware files)

Error message on startup now stopped appearing.

I had the same dialogue box beginning late February 2021. Today, installed Malware Bytes, which found 20 items for quarantine. One of those was the recently identified Silver Sparrow malware. Malware Bytes quarantined the items, then restarted my MBP (OS 10.12.6), reran Malware Bytes, which found no items in need of quarantine. The dialogue box we've all been experiencing has not reappeared.

Thanks, Oceandrifter for the research and reference to Malware Bytes.

Take a look at the replies in the thread

The Malware file path is Library/ApplicationSupport/.77B8A707-D8A5-4FBA-AAB9-7475351FDC70

it is a hidden file - filname starts with a . [dot]

Delete the file (or move to another folder if you feel unhappy deleting)

restart

I downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes. (older version, because I still use El Capitan.)

Then ran scan. Picked up a number of issues. Malware places it in quarantine. Now I dont get that message anymore.

Hi. I used CleanMyMacX software. Its free. The only thing with it is that it will detect the malware but you have to purchase it to auto remove. That said it lists the malware and allows you to click and remove malware manually. I had over 19 on my list and removed them one by one. Small hassle but it worked and the message does not pop up anymore. Hope this helps. Cheers!

OK I ran CleanMy MacX and it detected several Malware, I purchased it and deleted the Malware

and so far seems to have stopped the error message popping up randomly every few hrs.

Just a mystery where it came from as I am very careful about what I download and as far as I

know nothing updated or was downloaded in the last 2 weeks.

I followed the directions to delete recent extensions on my Safari-preferences-extensions and the message stop popping up after startup.

I had the same problem on my iMac. It’s funny how it happened to all of us in the same time frame...

Run Mawarebytes. Once I did that, it eliminated the malware and I never had that message come up again.

It’s been two days since I removed Zoom altogether and no pop up error any longer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I ran Malware Bytes and it resolved the problem. I can see some of the users here also fixed it. Maybe you try to run it again or get rid of the malware file as mentioned by OceanDrifter. Good luck!

SOLVED: For myself there may have been a couple sources of the problem. It has been a week now since I have had no error message displayed. One of the two possible causes was a file in "Library > LaunchAgents" called com.FHilEnLirpnWkxhyqvwjyFrmBeYMAgent.plist. I deleted this file and restarted the MacBook Pro. Unfortunately the error message still kept appearing. The next possible cause was in "Library > Preferences" called com.behenic.peglet.plist. I deleted this file and restarted my MacBook Pro again. It has been one week since then and I have not seen the error message display again.
