The design-build contract of the 2.2 million-SF Metlife Stadium involved the construction of a technologically advanced open-air stadium with seats for 82,500 spectators, including 217 luxury suite boxes. The new stadium, nestled in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, is the home for the New York Giants and the New York Jets. It was the first facility built specifically to accommodate two U.S. National Football League (NFL) teams. The stadium is also used for concerts and other entertainment and sports activities. The new site was the venue for Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014.
