Mewtwo is a Legendary Pokemon that does not evolve. It was first introduced in August of 2017 during the Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama, which ran from August 9-15.

How to Catch Mewtwo

Like all Legendary Pokemon, Mewtwo can only be caught in five-star raids in Pokemon Go. Mewtwo was last available in July of 2021 during Pokemon GO Fest, which means players will have to wait for its next event to capture him.

When Mewtwo eventually rolls around to five-star raids, players can also capture it in the rank 20 encounters of the Pokemon Go Battle League. Since it is a Mythical Pokemon, Mewtwo cannot be traded in a Special Trade.

Mewtwo Counters, Resistances, and Weaknesses

Since Mewtwo is a Psychic type, it is weakest to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. There are various Pokemon that can counter Mewtwo but some work better than others. Mewtwo's typing means it is resistant to Fighting and Psychic-type moves.

Mewtwo Moveset

Since its release, Mewtwo has remained one of the strongest attackers in Pokemon GO for its high DPS. Its best moves are Confusion and Psystrike.
