Every October, the Miami Broward Carnival gathers over 50,000 spectators and over 18,000 participants and performers on the weekend preceding Columbus Day. Amazing costumes, great music, numerous concerts, and competitions await all guests of Miami at this time. The main event is usually held at the Carnival Village, but there are lots of festivities all around the city. The Miami Broward Carnival is about celebrating the Caribbean's culture, traditions, and art heritage.

Miami Broward Carnival Events Schedule

The Carnival highlights include the Junior Carnival, Panorama, Carnival J'ouvert, Parade of Bands&Concert. This event brings much fun for all ages, celebrating beauty, top-world music performances, and amazing entertainment.

Junior Carnival (October 5, 2024)

Jr. Carnival, known as “Kiddies Carnival,” is an event where children immerse themselves into the culture of mas and Carnival. The goal of the Junior Carnival is to inspire kids to discover their highest potential through artistry, dance, and community. Junior Carnival runs from 1 pm to 10 pm. Tickets are $20 with $3.80 fees.

Panorama (October 11, 2024)

Immerse yourself in a loud and fun carnival atmosphere filled with the sounds of oil barrels turned into mystical musical pan instruments. These were created in the Caribbean islands by slaves to ease their daily lives with music. Panorama takes place from 4 pm to 11 pm. Tickets are $30 with $4.45 fees.

Carnival J'ouvert (October 12, 2024)

This vibrant celebration runs from 7 am to 3 pm and features plenty of Calypso and Soca bands and crowds dancing right on the streets. The Parade traditionally starts before dawn, and participants, covered in oil and various pasty materials, dance, hailing the rising of the sun. Tickets cost $65 with $3.80 fees.

Parade of Bands&Concert (October 13, 2024)

The main parade takes place on Sunday, the day before Columbus Day, showcasing over 18,000 masqueraded, dancing along the route. The festivities kick off at 11 am and end at 11 pm. The parade features two separate contests: Parade of the Bands and The Music Truck. Both of them are judged by expert and celebrity judges. The winner is awarded the "Band of the Year" title and gets a sizable cash prize. The celebration also includes The Kings, Queens, and Individuals costume competitions, bringing attention to the most elaborate and flamboyant costumes, winning sizable cash prizes.

Food and Drinks

More than 50 food vendors will treat Miami Broward One Carnival guests to cuisine from the Bahamas, Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, the Dominican Republic, and more. Visitors will also be able to enjoy rum, beer, and spirits from distillers and breweries representing the many islands of the Caribbean.

Parking

Carnival attendees can take advantage of free parking and a complimentary shuttle service from Broward to the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds.
