About a year ago when news broke that Megan Fox had quit Transformers 3 because director Michael Bay was “verbally abusive” toward her, questions began to rise on who could fill in for her and if the sequel could be saved. Of course, fast forward ahead to today and we have Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the fill in and yes, the sequel has very much been saved.
With the premiere of the latest Transformers movie just days away in Moscow, Bay addressed the issue regarding Fox, saying that he was told to get rid of her by producer Steven Spielberg. Fox had compared Bay to Hitler in a magazine article. “You know that Hitler thing. Steven said, fire her right now,” said Bay, who went on to add that he wasn’t hurt by the Hitler comment. Spielberg, however, is known to be very sensitive when it comes to Nazis and after his experience directing Schindler’s List, he founded the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, which serves as a remembrance of the Holocaust and World War II. Fox has deflected the attention from the dismissal by claiming that she left to do other projects, a resume which includes Jennifer’s Body, Jonah Hex and Passion Play. While she is out of theaters for the remainder of the year, Fox will be back in 2012 with two movies scheduled to release – the Kirsten Wiig/ Maya Rudolph comedy Friends with Kids and Judd Apatow’s comedy This Is Forty. In this game of he-said-she-said, was Spielberg right to fire Fox or should he have let the comment slide? Like it? Share it: Share- Share on Facebook
