The song is about a groupie wanting to sleep with Michael so she can get money. Michael doesn't want to because he has a girl already, so he tries to call her to tell her he's alright and to unlock the door because he forgot the key. Dirty Diana then rips the phone out of his hand and tells his girl, "He's not coming back because he's sleeping with me!" This is the real interpretation of the song if you read the lyrics you would know.

I personally think "Diana" might just be Billie Jean after she changed her name. I think after the events of "You wanna be startin' something" Billie jean gets in trouble with the law because of "public indecency" and then gets in more trouble by accusing Michael Jackson of being the father of her child in "Billie Jean" so after getting finned and Jail time she has to change her name to "Diana". She then finds Michael again in a relationship and tries to ruin it with the whole "Sleep with me!" thing starts up again. -JB

Dirty Diana didn't have anything to do with Diana Ross or with drugs. It had to do with a guy having a girl and forgetting to call her...then a girl trying to seduce him and him telling said female that he knows better than to have anything to do with her now and just wants to be with his girl.

to me it seems that the song speaks of a life lived many different times and experiece had not allowed him to conguer the spirit of what was seducing him in his mind. and finally victory was achieved when he gained the strength and power to over come the yielding of the body and mind to seducing agents on a spiritual level. and as I said before gain victory by being able to endure mentally what the body is put through physically to give in to seduction. The ultimate victory is you might get my body but i know you cant touch my soul. And having that victory we are left to assume by some when he ran off stage he was going out to be with her but I believe the stare down was one of victory to be able to look her back in the eyes and resist and not go home with her but home to his baby.

I would not expect Michael to ever use the name "DIANA" without knowing it would reference DIANA ROSS. She was Michael's inspiration, especially at the beginning of his career. Did they have a falling out? Why then would he leave to her his children? I've read the lyrics, and I get the fan bit, but he was one of Diana's biggest fans! And she his!

Just a coincidence, this song is sampled in Whitney Houston's Queen of the Night...a movie she did shortly before spiraling down the abyss of drug abuse....coincidence??...I think not.
