Six months away from the release of this year’s Jamie Lee Curtis-starring Halloween, the first official poster for the film dropped this morning, giving us our first look at Michael Myers 40 years after his initial confrontation with Laurie Strode. Not only is Myers’ mask the worse for wear, but it seems he’s bearing war wounds from the battle as well.
You probably remember that Laurie stabbed Michael in the left eye with a coat hanger towards the end of Halloween, and lightening up today’s poster sure seems to reveal that Myers’ left eye has never quite been the same since. The ocular damage was glimpsed when Michael was unmasked in the original (below), and it looks like the new film has retained that gnarly wound. Talk about continuity and attention to detail, eh?!
Check out the lightened up version of the poster below and let us know what you think.

In the film, directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Danny McBride, “Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.” Yes, the film takes place exactly 40 years after the events in John Carpenter‘s classic!
Judy Greer plays Karen Strode, Laurie’s daughter, while Andi Matichak landed the coveted role of the film’s young lead (daughter to Greer and granddaughter to Curtis).
Nick Castle will return to the role of Michael Myers, while stunt performer and actor James Jude Courtney has also been cast to play Myers.
The cast also includes Virginia “Ginny” Gardner (Project Almanac, Marvel’s “Runaways”), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle, My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound, Laggies, When We Rise), and Drew Scheid (“Stranger Things”, The War with Grandpa). They will be playing the friends of Matichak’s Allyson.
Michael returns home in exactly six months, on October 19, 2018.
