Late April to early May welcomes strawberry pickin’ season here in Middle Tennessee! This is one of our favorite spring activities that always turns out to be a tasty one too! Here are a few of our go-to pickin’ places.

Kelley’s Berry Farm: (May-June) Open 7 days a week during strawberry season. Call ahead to see how the crops are looking. *Cash only

Circle S Farms: Stay tuned to their Facebook page for updates. Currently, they’re hoping to open the second weekend in May.

Bloomsbury Farm: This year Bloomsbury Farm is opening one strawberry field for friends and families to come and ‘PICK YOUR OWN’ strawberries. No reservations needed, its only $5 per adult (kids are free) and $5 per pound. Available days and times below. PICK YOUR OWN starts Friday May 7th, 2021Monday, Wednesday, Saturday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM and Friday 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Delvin Farms: (Certified Organic) Check their Facebook page for days and hours of operation. In addition to the organic vegetables, Delvin Farms also has many great locally produced farm products like cheeses, milk, beef, pastured chickens, breads and regionally sourced produce. Curbside pickup is also available. (Masks must be worn when paying)

Head’s Farm: 3422 Kinneys Road, Cedar Hill, TN 37032 Upick opens May 3rd. On Saturday, May 8th the farm is hosting a Planting and Picking with Mom event. Participants can pick a pot and plant flowers, a pop up boutique, strawberries and more fun on the farm!

Busy Bee Farm -2450 Bowie Road, Greenbrier, TN 37073 No pesticides are used, blueberries, strawberries, zinnias, picnic area (bring your own food)

Easy Breezy Strawberry Pie

1 1/4 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

3/4 cup milk

1 cup self-rising flour

1 cup sugar

8 Tablespoons (1 stick) butter

• Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
• Place the butter in an 8 inch square glass baking dish. Place the dish in the oven to melt the butter.
• In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and flour. Add the milk and stir until well combined.
• Pour the mixture into the pan on top of the melted butter but do not stir. Add the sliced strawberries on top without stirring.
• Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
