Q: Should I say “hours” after giving time? A: In formal writing, the word “hours” is always added. However, in conversations, when your meaning is obvious, it’s very typical to drop the “hours”. In addition, soldiers and members of the Army will usually add the word “hours”. Marines and Coast Guard members will usually drop the “hours”. Q: Can I say “Oh” instead of Zero? A: In everyday conversations and in the Movies, you are likely to hear “Oh”s, but military members always say Zero to avoid ambiguity.
