Where Eagles Dare Lyrics

Edit Lyrics we walk the streets at night We go where eagles dare They pick up every movement They pick up every loser With jaded eyes and features You think they really care I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby, babe The omelet of disease Awaits your noontime meal Her mouth of germicide Seducing all your plans I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby, babe Let's test your threshold of pain Let's see how long you last That's happened in your rape On bosoms of your past With jaded eyes and features You think they really care Let's go where eagles dare We'll go where eagles dare I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it, baby I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it baby, baby, babe New! Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.

Respect the structure

Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.

Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)

Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.

Don’t mix versions

If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.

Let the lyrics be lyrics

This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.

Edit lightly

If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’

When in doubt, ask the crowd

Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.

While it's possible the song does not take it's name from the movie - given Danzig's repertoire it seems only logical that it does - particularly given the age of the movie. However, i have seen this movie (which is an excellent WWII flick) and it offer absolutely NO help whatsoever for decoding Danzig's esoteric and always intriguing lyrics. Though, in the movie they have to reach a Nazi fortress which is extremely dangerous to get to, and be inside of - now if this is some whore, or whores that Glenn is talking about - you ask me and their "omelet of disease" sounds pretty damn dangerous to be inside of.

What an awesome piece of lyrical imagery though, huh?

I think I have an idea, though I could be wrong.. may just be obscure enough. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Dare A space pilot that fights little green men? From the 1950s

The LOGICAL explanation for this song is found in the various meanings of the phrase "where eagles dare", like the meaning; to be so ambitious as to lack hubris. To challange the Gods themselves (or maybe Fascists?), like Icaros. Or simply; eagles fly at an altitude where no other bird can go, and they try and get even higher (as to challange the Gods themselves?). And Nazi Germany was the jumping of the shark for Fascism which is built out of hubris. Fascists still live and people punishes, dislike different, and likewise, is the modern fascist! Everything was over the top,...

Misifts will always be the flag ship of Anti-Social behaviour in this Society and for all time. Because Anti-Social is a good trait in a world of fascism! "The world is grown so bad, that wrens make prey where eagles dare not perch."-Shakespeare

The term Where Eagles Dare existed long before the movie. Wrens are timid birds in the quote, hunting in a place where Eagles (birds of prey) are scared to hunt.

The song tells the story of a dangerous street where average men go to temp fate and meet prostitutes. It is presented in a "fly on the wall style" by someone just passing through to see the sights on an adventure. To go where "Eagles Dare".

We walk the streets at night We go where eagles dare They pick up every movement They pick up every loser With jaded eyes and features You think they really care

(Our narrator comes for the danger, while men come seeking jaded women who are in it for the money not the love.)

I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it baby I ain't no goddamn son of a bitch You better think about it baby, babe (An argument heard on the street between a hooker and a pimp or a John. "You better think about it baby" the women are under threat of violence for such harsh words.

An omelet of disease awaits your noontime meal (Old droopy breasts are referred to as "fried eggs") Her mouth of germicide seducing all your glands (the women rinse their mouths with germicide between dates)

Let's test your threshold of pain Let's see how long you last That's happened in your rape On bosoms of your past (A cruel John wants to push a woman sexually, as he believes a woman such as her must have been raped in her past and be used to such treatment)

This song is the best ever tune to play mentally during those teenage summers you can't STOP getting kicked out of the house. I know there were plenty of good reasons but this tune helped me feel justified and triumphant while shattering lamps and being beaten with a rake. Fuck right! Good times great tunes...yeah!
