    In coversation with Menesh Modhwadia 🗣️ Menesh is our All Bar One Operations Director here at M&B, and guest speaker at our latest M&Be Unified event. M&Be Unified provides a space for M&B teams to come together and learn about experiences from across ethnic backgrounds in order to build allyship and provide a safe space to grow together. Throughout the day, we learnt all about Menesh's career story and the ways in which ethnicity had impacted his journey.     We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Mitchells & Butlers and Social Bite have been shortlisted for the National Fundraising Awards in the category of Charity–Business Relationship of the Year. This recognition means a lot to us - not just because of the scale of what’s been achieved, but because of the heart, commitment and collaboration behind it. When our partnership officially launched in September 2024, we set out with an ambitious vision: to combine the reach, passion and creativity of 1,650 M&B venues with Social Bite’s mission to break the cycle of homelessness through homes, jobs and food. What’s happened since has been nothing short of transformational. Together, we’ve: 💰Raised £1.2 million in our first year, two months ahead of target - unlocking an additional £500k in matched funding 🍴 Enabled 130,000+ meals across nearly 200 communities last winter alone 🤝 Supported 39 people from homeless backgrounds into roles across M&B brands ☕ Expanded Social Bite’s work into new regions 💚 Inspired thousands of colleagues and guests to get involved through fundraising and community activity What makes this partnership special isn’t just the numbers. It’s the shared belief that homelessness is not inevitable and that when businesses, colleagues, customers and communities pull together, we can create real, lasting change. To every M&B team member who has walked, cycled, climbed, baked, donated, volunteered or championed this cause… thank you. To every guest who has chosen to “pay it forward”… thank you. And to the Social Bite team, whose passion and innovation drive this mission every day… thank you. 🙏 Being shortlisted is a wonderful moment of recognition - but the real achievement is the impact already being felt by people across the UK who now have meals, jobs, safe places to call home, support and hope.     It’s World Bartender Day 🍸 Today, we’re recognising and thanking our talented bartenders across M&B who bring skill, passion and energy to our bars every day. Recently, our All Bar One Head Bartenders came together for a dedicated training session focused on drinks quality, supported by the Asahi team, who shared expertise on perfect pours and beer quality.     Celebrating a major milestone on our journey to smarter and greener operations 🌱🌍 Last month, we completed our 1,000th IoT installation across the M&B estate. This is a major step forward in operating more intelligently, efficiently and sustainably across M&B. Our IoT programme has helped us: ⚡ Reduce energy use and carbon emissions 🔧 Improve equipment reliability ⏱️ Free up our teams with smart automation 📊 Have greater visibility across our sites The positive impact of this is already being seen across the business, and hitting 1,000 installs is just the beginning. There’s huge potential still ahead, and we can't wait to continue on this journey.     We’re excited to share our first remodel of 2026 ✨ Last month, our M&B Openings Team started the year strong with the fantastic refurbishment of O’Neill’s Wardour. This beautifully refreshed venue is ready to deliver even more memorable experiences for our guests, and it’s a real testament to the hard work, collaboration and dedication of everyone involved.     This Race Equality Week, we took an important step in our ED&I journey with our M&Be Unified event 🤝 M&Be Unified is focused on inclusion across ethnic backgrounds – creating space to listen, learn and build allyship together. 💚 The event was hosted by M&B Diversity and Inclusion Co-Chair, Gin S., who spoke about her experiences and created space for open dialogue between team members in a networking session. We were then joined by Operations Director, Menesh Modhwadia, who spoke about his career in hospitality and the ways that ethnicity has shaped his experience. The day brought our teams together to share real experiences, ask honest questions and support one another. We’ll be sharing more from our teams and their experiences in upcoming content as we continue this journey together.
