Mockup Apple Watch apps and compare screen sizes with these official bezel templates Avatar for Benjamin Mayo Benjamin Mayo | Jan 14 2015 - 10:43 am PT 17 Comments

As an update to its Apple Watch Design resources, the company has now provided official bezel mock-ups of the 38 mm and 42 mm watches. Although the files are meant for developers, readers interested in Apple Watch can also use the images to compare the overall physical size of the two sizes.

The templates also accurately show how large the Watch bezels are, in relation to the screen. As the bezels remain the same size, they take up a larger proportion of the 38mm’s face than the 42 mm size. You can see the two Apple Watch styles overlaid below: the 42 mm watch is colored blue (or deep violet depending on your display).

Anyone have a printout so I can put on my wrist to compare?

      Men = 42 Women = 38

      No need to measure.

I don’t think the sizes are really gender specific, nor is that the reason for having two different sizes.

This is great. With you here there’s no need for me to have opinions of my own.

I’m a slim guy with slim wrists…I have a feeling 38mm will be for me.

      • luckydcxx - 11 years ago

        Let me correct myself …

        Real men = 42 Women and children = 38

I’m a twin and with that comes my smaller body size. Does that make me a child, Mr. LuckyDickhead?

      • Stefan Hill - 11 years ago

Mr CoolFactor, being a twin results in smaller birth weights it doesn’t mean you have a smaller body size. Thats genetics. I am a twin and we are 6ft and me a little more. we are also friends with another pair of twins and they are both 6ft6 and built like shit houses! Don’t winge about being small theres nothing wrong with being small. I would prefer the 38 just because it looks less ignorant.

It means you should hit the gym or you will be wearing a woman’s size watch.

How much you bench bro? We gotta know. Also, I know it’s a little personal, but since you insist on flapping it in our faces, how huge is your dong?

      • m3strada - 11 years ago

why don’t you just ask your mom, I bet she knows the answer to both of those questions. ;)

Would someone please explain what this means, since 42 is obviously greater than 38 mm.

It means the thickness of the bezel is the same on each watch and since the 38mm is smaller, the bezel takes up a larger percentage of the watch faces total area.
