Mortal Kombat 11 has 25 playable characters at launch. This guide explains how to unlock all chars in the game.

  1. 23 Characters are unlocked from the beginning
  2. 1 Character called Frost can be unlocked by picking all 4 Sub-Zero choices in Chapter 4 of the Story. This chapter lets you play as Scorpion or Sub-Zero. Always pick Sub-Zero and you’ll unlock Frost at the end of Chapter 4. If you picked Scorpion by mistake you can simply replay that part of the chapter and pick the other choice.
  3. 1 Character called Shao Kahn is a Pre-Order Bonus. If you bought the disc version, there should be a leaflet inside with the Shao Kahn code. If you pre-ordered digitally it will automatically download with the game.

So there’s really only 2 characters you must unlock. All other fighters are available from the beginning!
