Mortal Shell: How To Farm Glimpse (The Easy Way) - Screen Rant

Players require a couple of items in order to upgrade their characters in Mortal Shell and earning them can sometimes be quite tedious. Rather than armor sets or armor pieces with pre-rolled stats, players must acquire "shells" and upgrade them suitably to their play-style in order to survive.

Glimpse is an item/currency in Mortal Shell that enables players to complete certain actions with some NPC's, but also serves to upgrade shells. Every shell has to be upgraded on its own and isn't affected by a unified upgrade system. This means that if players want to rank up their shells they must collect a large number of glimpse and upgrade each shell individually. There are items such as "glimpse of affection" and others that reward players with a substantial number of glimpse at one time, so at the very least, there is a variety rather than consistently earning a single glimpse at a time.
Farming Glimpse in Mortal Shell
Glimpse drops randomly from enemies in the world and there isn't any particular rhyme or reason to their consistency. However, enveloping the game world in Fog will increase the average drop rate of glimpse by an agreeable margin as many of the enemies during the fog state are much stronger and harder to kill. Regularly, sub-bosses and main bosses have a guaranteed glimpse drop, but with the fog up, regular enemies establish drop rates pretty close to those numbers.
In order to unlock the Fog mechanic, players must engage one of the 3 temples Shrine of Ash, Crypt of Martyrs, and Seat of Infinity; the easiest one to complete is the Shrine of Ash. After defeating the boss and receiving the corresponding sacred gland, the temple as well as Fallgrim will be covered in Fog as players journey back to Fallgrim tower. Players should quickly and deftly avoid combat in order to return to Fallgrim tower so they can give the gland to the Old prisoner. Doing so will unlock a new NPC named Thestus, and offering him a glimpse will enable players to switch the Fog off and on. Once this is up, players can walk around Fallgrim killing stronger enemies with increased Glimpse drop rates. It seems a little unfortunate having to use Glimpse in order to gain glimpse but nothing spent, nothing gained.
The first shell that players acquire Harros, has an ability called Acceration of Yearning. This ability increases the amount of Glimpse earned from killing enemies. There is also an item players can purchase from Vlas called a bronze bell. Using it a few times will also increase the drop rates of glimpse, but after that first purchase from Vlas players will have to find more Bronze Bells throughout the world. Youtuber Phil Phantastic provides some insight into using this item as well as farming monsters in Fallgrim for some quick glimpse.
