I am a mother now and aim to do the best I can for my children despite having an empty experience from my own mother. I applaud those who are fortunate enough to have had great childhoods and good relationships with their mothers (both birth and adoptive) however there are many for whom 'mother's day' is a very painful time and thus I would like to see more sensitivity and empathy and less publicity and commercialization about the 'day' Posted by Egeh:

Being in boarding schools:4 years primary,4 years secondary and another 4 of College, I believe that I have not been with my mother and for that matter with my family enough time.My mother is in a better place right now but I remember her every second of my life and pray for her hoping I will meet with her again in heaven.I dream of seeing my mother and father together to stay with for eternity to pay back some of what I owe them including thanks . My mom is gone to Heaven but I still can feel thankful to her as love continues. Posted by Debbie:

We used to get coupons on the box of cereal for free ice cream from Dairy Queen. So we would all get together for ice cream on Mothers Day. Now it has just become a thing that we do. My Dad used to take us. Now they are gone. I take my family. Happy Mothers Day MOM! Posted by Shrikant Potnis:

My mother was a really wonderful woman. She used to be busy all the time doing something either for my father or sister/s or for me. Extreme hard worker and loving human being. She was having a very kind heart for poor. Invariably she used to give cloths or food or whatever she can to a poor who used come to our door. God bless soul of my dear mother.
