"Why do I need money?" he told The Joe Rogan Experience.

"I think living your life chasing like a nicer car, and a bigger and bigger box to live in is kind of like a dumb way to go about life."

According to various reports, Mr Beast invests as much as 300,000 dollars to produce each of his videos, with the highest cost of any video he's ever produced being 3.5 million dollars.

"I woke up, I studied YouTube, I studied videos, I studied film-making, I went to bed and that was my life," Donaldson told Bloomberg in 2020.

"The beauty of YouTube is double the effort isn't double the views, it's like 10x.

"The first million subscribers you get will take years, but the second will come in a few months."
