Mumbai: Line 2A (Dahisar-DN Nagar) from Link Road and Line 7 (Dahisar E-Andheri E) from the Western Express Highway are both 98% finished with construction. The trial runs for the two lines are expected to start by October of this year, according to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), which is responsible for implementing the project.

The MMRDA hopes to start the last phase of commercial operations by the end of the month of December. This year's 20-kilometer section was just started by the MMRDA in April.

An average of 30,000 people use the Maha. Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Ltd (MMMOCLoperations )'s and maintenance (O&M) services each day. 18 stations make up the short stretch.

The two metro lines can accommodate about 3 lakh people once they are fully functioning. There will be 30 stations along the whole line. Additionally, at the DN Nagar station, the brand-new Metro Lines 2A and 7 will link with the current Metro One, which travels between Ghatkopar and Versova.

Additionally, the MMRDA is building a foot overbridge at Goregoan station on Metro Line 7 so that it may link to the train station in the western suburbs in order to provide continuous connection. The MMRDA will shortly announce a tender for the same.

On October 11, 2015, both routes' foundation stones were laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The aforementioned line was slated to debut in the following year. After that, it was supposed to start in October 2020.

It was postponed until October 2020, though, because of time lost during the epidemic and workers who went home during the lockdown.
