What are Mushrooms and What Do They Do in Minecraft
Mushrooms are a fungus that grows in Minecraft, they come in two colors red and brown. By themselves they're useless, but they play a key ingredient in making a variety of food items in-game. They can also be planted but they have to be in poorly lit areas, and if you use Bone Meal on them they'll turn into giant Mushrooms.
Where to Find Mushrooms
Mushrooms are often found in poorly lit areas in-game. They can be found randomly on the ground or in caves. But they're also known to spawn in specific biomes. Listed below are all the biomes Mushrooms spawn in.
- Swamp
- Old Growth Taiga
- Mushroom Field
- Nether
Mushrooms will also spawn if you use shears on a Mooshroom it'll turn into a normal cow and drop five mushrooms. They can also be bought off a Wandering Trader.
