What are Mushrooms and What Do They Do in Minecraft

Mushrooms are a fungus that grows in Minecraft, they come in two colors red and brown. By themselves they're useless, but they play a key ingredient in making a variety of food items in-game. They can also be planted but they have to be in poorly lit areas, and if you use Bone Meal on them they'll turn into giant Mushrooms.

Where to Find Mushrooms

Mushrooms are often found in poorly lit areas in-game. They can be found randomly on the ground or in caves. But they're also known to spawn in specific biomes. Listed below are all the biomes Mushrooms spawn in.

• Swamp
• Old Growth Taiga
• Mushroom Field
• Nether

Mushrooms will also spawn if you use shears on a Mooshroom it'll turn into a normal cow and drop five mushrooms. They can also be bought off a Wandering Trader.

What Can I Craft With Mushrooms

Players can craft four different items using Mushrooms. Below you'll find a list of everything you can craft in-game.

• Fermented Spider Eye
• Mushroom Stew
• Rabbit Stew
• Suspicious Stew

Fermented Spider Eye

To a Fermented Spider Eye, you'll need a couple of items. Below you'll find a list of all the items needed to make a Fermented Spider Eye alongside a picture of the recipe.

• Spider Eye
• Brown Sugar
• Brown Mushroom

Mushroom Stew

To make Mushroom Stew, you'll need a couple of items. Below you'll find a list of all the items needed to make Mushroom Stew alongside a picture of the recipe.

• Red Mushroom
• Brown Mushroom
• Bowl

Rabbit Stew

To make Rabbit Stew, you'll need a couple of items. Below you'll find a list of all the items needed to make rabbit stew alongside a picture of the recipe.

• Cooked Rabbit: 1
• Carrot: 1
• Baked Potato: 1
• Red or Brown Mushroom: 1
• Bowl: 1

Suspicious Stew
