If anyone faces this issue, just deactivate the auto play video. It means just turn it off. Restart the Facebook app. And solved!!

go to your settings in facebook, scroll down to preferences and click “media”. there should be a selection that says “never autoplay videos”. restart the app and it should fix the problem.

I went into my iPhone settings, then to Facebook settings and turned off access to my camera. Now I can scroll Facebook and listen to music at the same time. If I watch a video the music pauses but starts again once the video has finished.

Opened my iPhone settings, went to Facebook and turned off Bluetooth. Turned off Camera and Microphone.

Tested. It worked. Turned Microphone and Camera back on. Music still worked.

Seems to be an issue with Bluetooth and in my instance Apple CarPlay.

The only thing that worked for me was turning off Facebook’s access to my iphone camera in Settings. Resolved the problem immediately.

After reading several replies, I turned off FB access to photos in settings, tested, and music was working again while using the FB app. So I went back into settings and turned access to all photos back on, and the music continued to play! Turning photo access on and off seemed to be a solution, at least for me. Weird.

All the answers here are wrong.

The only reason turning off the camera or mic works is because that causes the app to restart, which fixes the issue, until you play another video and you're back to square one.

You don't need to restart - you just need to force-quit the Facebook app. It will be fine until you play any media within the fb app again.

Facebook needs to fix this, not Apple.

Patrick Lyle I provided the instructions above, but it's not being noticed by many people. Just force quit the app. It's a bug in the Facebook app that tells iOS that it's playing content.

I’ve been looking for SOOOOO many solutions. Tried so many things. This is the only one that worked. As soon as I turned my camera access off for FB I went to the app without closing it out before or restarting my phone. And it worked instantly!!

If Facebook is open before Apple Music this is the problem. Shut Facebook down, make sure Apple Music is open first, then re-start Facebook second. Seems to solve the issue on my iPhone.

East solution. This worked! Just closed the app. Play my music and went back to open the Facebook app. It did not stop my music this time.

On my iPad the Facebook “never autoplay video” radio button is already selected. In fact, I couldn’t de-select it. The problem of music turning off when I open FB has just started, I didn’t change any settings but it started happening. Previously music only stopped if I played a video or other sound source from within FB.
