Thanu As shown in the picture he has red and swollen testicles. Its usually occurs in warm and dry days. When we swip it with a cool wet cloths the redness and swollenness decreases. Is it normal. What is his problem. He is not active as the other days. He is in pain. We can feel it. Female dog is in her matting season but he is not interensting in that also. When we show to a vet. He is telling that this is normal. But we dont feel like that. #1 · Feb 16, 2021 As shown in the picture he has red and swollen testicles. Its usually occurs in warm and dry days. I don't recognize the flag, though. Edit: I looked up the flag, and you are in Sri Lanka I looked at the picture and it almost looks like the redness is sunburn! And yes, that CAN happen! There is very little fur on the testicles, and if the sun shines on them directly, the skin could get burned. You say he seems to be in pain. Is he licking them a lot, or trying to scratch them? Are there maybe insects biting him there? The testicles have to be cooler than the rest of the body to function normally. They will be carried further away from the body in hot weather. Maybe this is why you are thinking they are swollen? I really don't have a good answer for you. It's only the very bottom part of the scrotum that's red. Maybe it's something it touches when he lies down that's causing this. Or maybe it IS sunburn, or a burn from lying on hot pavement . The sun wouldn't be able to reach the part of the scrotum that's right next to his body when he's lying on his side. Since the vet has examined him, I am assuming that there is nothing wrong with the testicles that could be felt with a physical examination - in other words, nothing physically wrong with the testicles themselves. It looks to me that the main problem is the redness of the scrotum. My assumption may be wrong though. #3 · Feb 16, 2021 (Edited) I can’t see any photo but redness and inflammation is never normal. Is there somewhere that be can be in contact with like cleaning solution that was not rinsed off well like bleach. #4 · Feb 16, 2021 They look painful. If he's been licking them because there's discomfort for whatever reason, it'll only make the situation worse. If so, do you have a cone or inflatable collar to keep him from licking or chewing on them until they heal? #5 · Feb 16, 2021 How about applying sun block before he goes outside? If it's sunburn that definitely is going to help. The article says its quite common for dogs to get burns on their bellies (and of course, scrotum) during really hot weather: www.eukanuba.ca
