The world may be in disarray, but at least we have more My Hero Academia to look forward to. The very popular anime, which is based on Kōhei Horikoshi’s manga series of the same name, is still going strong after five seasons, with a sixth season slated to premiere in 2022. The upcoming season will follow the “Paranormal Liberation War” arc from chapters 253-306 in the manga, with the Heroes facing off against the Paranormal Liberation Front in all-out war. It’s one of the most celebrated arcs of the ongoing manga so far and is much anticipated by fans after a somewhat divisive fifth season. My Hero Academia Season 6 Release Date

My Hero Academia will return in fall 2022, which is sadly still kind of far away. The announcement was made as part of December’s Jump Festa event, which is an exposition and celebration of all things manga and anime. While a more specific date was not confirmed as part of the Jump Festa announcement, The Weekly Shonen Jump magazine recently featured My Hero Academia on its cover, with the more specific Season 6 release date of October 2022.

My Hero Academia also released a Season 6 trailer at Jump Festa. The short trailer teases the upcoming war, following Season 5’s relative calm before the storm. The much-anticipated “Paranormal Liberation War” arc is the culmination of what has come before, featuring some legendary battles and heartbreaking angst. Check out the trailer below…

Thus far, Toho and Bones have produced 113 episodes of My Hero Academia, which are all available to watch in either subbed or dubbed formats on Funimation. The series begins when teen protagonist Izuku “Deku” Midoriya, who has always dreamed of being a hero with superpowers, is gifted superpowers from celebrated hero All Might. From there, he begins training at UA High School, the top Hero Academy in the country.

Of course, this is only the beginning. Five seasons later, the League of Villains has merged with the Meta Liberation Army to form the Paranormal Liberation Front. Season 5 ended with a post-credit scene featuring Class 1A looking over a cliff towards a city filled with villains. “The major incident that will shake superhuman society will finally begin”… in October 2022.
