My Native Instruments Plug-in Does Not Appear In Logic

-

  1. Support Home

Logic uses exclusively the Audio Unit (AU) plug-in format to load Native Instruments plug-ins. If your NI plug-in does not appear in Logic, you have to make sure the AU plug-in file is installed on your system. If your NI plug-in still does not show up in Logic, you have to manually reinitialize the missing plug-in.

Reinstalling the Missing Plug-in

  1. Go to the following folder on your hard drive:Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components
  2. Look for the NI plug-in file "*your product name*.component" (e.g. "Massive.component"). If the plug-in file is found in the Components folder, skip directly to the section below ('Manually Reinitializing the Missing Plug-in'). If the plug-in file is missing, proceed with the steps below.
  3. Start Native Access and go to Library > Installed.
  4. Scroll to the product that needs to be reinstalled and select Reinstall from the three dots menu.NA2_REINSTALL.png

Note: See this article to learn more about reinstalling NI products with Native Access.

Manually Reinitializing the Missing Plug-in

If your Native Instruments plug-in is still not showing up in Logic even when the corresponding ".component" file is installed, please follow the below steps:

  1. Make sure that Logic is closed.
  2. Locate the ".component" file (e.g. "Massive.component") corresponding to your missing NI plug-in in the plug-in folder:Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > Plug-Ins > Components
  3. Move the file to another location on your hard drive (e.g. the Desktop) and make sure it is not present in the Components folder anymore.
  4. Launch Logic and then close it again.
  5. Put the plug-in back into the Components folder.
  6. Restart Logic.

The plug-in should now be available in Logic.
