I can't listen to it anymore, all the conspiracy theories about Rafa's "real" height... I'm almost used to the decades-long goofy conspiracy theories about him faking injuries (for whatever Grand Evil Master Plan reason), but accusing him of making himself taller by willfully deceiving the public (for whatever Grand Evil Master Plan reason) is just too stupid. Here's the clip. 2:31... Enjoy the truth, naysayers. Why would he lie about it? (If you still believe he is an inch taller than Schwartzman, then explain yourself - but without trying to "convince" me with laughable shake-hands pics with other players. Instead, explain WHY he would lie to everyone.) C

I am 185 cms and when I have stood next to him at Indian Wells, he seemed a tiny bit taller. On the other hand, I used to be a college athlete and according to ESPN, you shouldn’t believe anything I say about my own height! Last edited: Mar 23, 2022 Jokervich

187.5cm would make him 73.82 inches, which is almost 6'2. Djokovic is listed as 6'2, yet he looks a good inch taller than Nadal. Nadal is definitely no taller than 6'1 and is probably closer to 6'0. The_Mental_Giant

Nadal has bad posture and slouches.. when straight up he is no shorter than Federer both are around 6´1, while djokovic is closer to 6´2 and murray a tiny bit taller than Djoko. Wawrinka is the solid 6´0 guy so to estimate anyones height put him next to Wawrinka. f2267a24-98c1-443d-897e-6b051e87c815.jpeg Nadal has an inch on Wawrinka -dominic-thiem-gegen-rafael-nadal-zu-spielen-ist-schrecklich-.jpg https://www.**************.org/imgb/83699/roger-federer-i-congratulated-rafael-nadal-on-wedding-he-replied-to-me-.jpg dominic-thiem-verrat-wie-federer-privat-eine-andere-person-ist.jpg Nadal Thiem and Federer are all 6´1, and it shows when they are next to eachother, while Gasquet and Shapovalov have never been 6´1 they are shorter than that.. and no way Dimitrov is 6´3.. he is 6´1 1/2 max titoelcolombiano

That's what I've always wondered. Nadal has always looked shorter than Federer despite both being listed as the same height. Which makes me think Nadal is closer to 6'0 than 6'1. A

Imho, several years ago Rafa was very close to 185cms when he was standing tall. This was while he was wearing tennis gear and tennis shoes. I was standing next to him wearing similar shoes and I was surprised at how similar our heights were - having always believed he was around 180cms. I think many are confused by Rafa's height for at least two reasons ... 1/ We all tend to shrink over time. 2/ Rafa is often photographed standing next to his opponents at presentation ceremonies. He tends to slouch in those situations- possibly due to fatigue - more than his opponents so that would make him appear to be a tad shorter than he actually is. Biotic

There's no way anyone can tell that from most pictures of them together that're around: 1784102-37679331-2560-1440.jpg murray-djokovic_806x605_71476086700.jpg tennis-canada-montreal-masters-andy-murray-novak-djokovic_3338529.jpg Andy-Murray-and-Novak-Djokovic-890678.jpg %2Fmethode%2Ftimes%2Fprod%2Fweb%2Fbin%2F969ed2dc-80e5-11ea-af15-2abf27a967e9.jpg https%3A%2F%2Fs3-images.sportbible.com%2Fs3%2Fcontent%2Fe5d6a0a06214f8b5fbea76476d116fac.png I can find a couple of photos where Murray looks taller than Novak but the majority of them they're pretty much bang on the same height. The reality is comparing heights of people standing near one another is not an exact science since posture, shoe lift, proportions and hair are all trying to confuse the issue. The only exact way is to measure them properly in their bare feet, pulled up to their full height, using a spirit level and ignoring their hair. That said, I don't buy Rafa and Murray are both 187.5cm as they've stated. One of them's surely wrong. Last edited: Mar 23, 2022 The_Mental_Giant

Because he slouches next to him, there are pictures where Rafa looks taller than him africa-federer-photographers-rafael-exhibition-tennis-ahead_8f3ec0f6-0c45-11eb-ad65-9c86ef2154a5_1643556313948.jpg nadal-federer.jpg It is very rare to see Rafa standing straight, he has a very bad posture, and when he moderately hits a ok posture he is no shorter than Federer not even by half inch. As I said the best way is to see them compared to a third person, in this case Thiem who has a similar height, and they both stand similarly the same size against thiem, even Rafa at times compare slightly taller from THiem than Federer does. First picture he seems to be with crossed hands and resting over his own body, you are here ignoring how much someone can "appear shorter" with a lose/bad posture. The second picture is much more telling, look at their shoulder height, not much difference, and Nadal has the head more tilted down than Murray. the true height difference is no more than 1.25 inches between them. I get that it may be a point of interest as players do seem to be getting taller, but this thread seems to be a debate over an inch or two as though it’s some sort of competition. The_Mental_Giant

Yeah true, we have became that shallow.. but on topic.. Height might help serve, and thus we should be looking better at shoulder height and arm lenght rather than where the top of your head ends, as some guys have quite long neck and bigger head/forehead, which absolutely adds total height but helps nothing when it comes to serving. I’ve little doubt height helps serve, the stronger servers tend to be the taller players. I think height is more of a big deal to men. Men don’t like being considered short. Don’t get it myself, but I’m not a man lol The_Mental_Giant

Why would Nadal lie? Roflcopters. Anyway, the dude saying 187.5 is 6 foot 1 is a bit misleading; that's practically 6 foot 2, and this isn't like age where fractions or rounding get too many knickers in twists. Rattie

Both maybe. You’d need to ask them. Not all women are bothered about men’s height. My tallest OH was 6’5” and the shortest 5’8” I‘m 5’7” which is considered tall for a woman, but I don’t think I’m tall. I know many women taller than me. The_Mental_Giant

Are you in the US? probably the US lags far behind Europe in terms of height nowadays. I have a friend here (girl) who was in the US, probably NYC but also west coast and she told me she found American people to be very small. 6´4 (for men) and 5´0-5´11(for women) are very normal heights in most middle-northern european countries nowadays. No, I’m in the UK, where 5’3” is the average. Height is increasing with new generations though, due to better diet and nutrition, hence lots more taller young people. I remember doing genealogy research into my family and once I started looking at WW1 records, large numbers of men were in the 5’3-5” range. You wouldn’t see that now. ForehandRF

Here is irrefutable proof. Prime Rafa is about two inches taller than prime Djokovic. Depending on circumstances, in American measurements, Novak is 6'2, so Rafa would be 6'4. Here Novak is about 4'0 tall - with perfect posture - making Rafa 4'2. Redirect Notice
