We need to name villagers with the name tags because it can be sometimes hard to tell which villager is which instead telling them by their profession or trades. We could use it for adventure maps for the villagers with name tags. Last edited by Pixelpain: May 31, 2013 Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

For adventure maps, they can already be named. Support, even though redundant. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

You can't use nametags or leads on villagers. Support. ^^ Edit: Did some searching, and found this: While you can not name adult villagers, you can name baby villagers, this might be considerd a bug Source: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Name_Tag Last edited by Queen_Gwen: May 31, 2013 Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

Kinda unfair since villager kids can be named but the adults should be renamed. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

I agree. You should be able to leash them as well, but that's something for another suggestion, I suppose. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

If you are looking to use this feature in adventure maps or creative than you already can. Just use an anvil and spawn egg. I think that you are talking about adding the name tag feature available to grown villagers. If that is what you are implying, than I agree. It is a small change, but I could see a use for it. If you name a villager or put a lead on him as a kid, he will stay like that as an adult. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

Actually, no support. It is realistic like this; you generally name your children when they are born, not when they are 50 years old. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack
