Hebrew

[edit]

Naomi (נָעֳמִי‎) is a feminine name of Hebrew origin. In Hebrew, it means "pleasantness" and was originally pronounced with the stress on the i (the o is a hataf qamatz, marked with a shva to indicate that it is very short). In the Book of Ruth, Naomi was the mother-in-law of Ruth, making the name Naomi a Biblical name.[1]
