Naruto: All Eyes Of Sasuke Uchiha, Ranked - CBR

Sasuke is one of the main characters of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series and also among the strongest shinobi to exist in the story. Although he spends a good chunk of his life locked in a self-imposed prison of vengeance, he eventually overcomes his rage and wholeheartedly accepts Naruto's hand in friendship. Being an Uchiha, however, Sasuke is blessed with the visual prowess of Indra Otsutsuki and his descendants, giving him a clear advantage in most battles.

Sasuke has a range of abilities at his disposal, including Ninjutsu, Bukijutsu, and Nature Transformation techniques. In addition, Sasuke has gained multiple eye powers, from Sharingan to Rinnegan, all of which make him an even greater force to be reckoned with. As the reincarnation of Indra, his control over these eyes is immaculate, having mastered numerous versions of them over the years.

Updated on May 17, 2024, by Ajay Aravind: Naruto has consistently been ranked among the most popular Shonen anime series ever made, and a large part of that is due to Sasuke. His various eyes make him one of the strongest Naruto characters, which is why we've updated this article with some more relevant information.

Sasuke Uchiha is a member of the Uchiha clan and thus, possesses the visual Kekkei Genkai known as the Sharingan. This eye is incredibly powerful and allows a user to read the movements of others better. The one-tomoe Sharingan also lets the users copy the techniques of others, although it takes quite some time to master them. However, any copied jutsu can be used perfectly, as Sasuke replicates Rock Lee's Front Lotus to make his Lion Combo technique. Unfortunately, this eye ability cannot be used to copy a wide range of abilities.

Trivia

  • The tomoe is a shape commonly used on heraldry badges and insignia
  • Orochimaru is known for his tomoe-shaped earrings

As such, the one-tomoe Sharingan is the weakest eye of the Uchiha Clan in the series. Although it's a decent power-up, it only unlocks a fraction of what this eye is truly capable of. Sasuke Uchiha unlocked this eye during the Uchiha clan massacre; however, the trauma made him forget that he ever unlocked it, to begin with. During the Land of Waves arc, Sasuke re-awakened this power for the first time since that incident.

5 The Two Tomoe Sharingan Can Mimic Basic Jutsu

This form of the Sharingan is an evolution of the eye with a single tomoe and is much stronger. Expectedly, it grants the user all the powers that the first Sharingan does but it does so in a much better way. The movements that a user of the two tomoe Sharingan can read are much more refined and precise and thus, it helps them react to dangers much better. This eye can also copy any form of ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu as long as they're not Kekkei Genkai or secret Hiden techniques.

Trivia

  • A few individuals are capable of starting with the two-tomoe Sharingan
  • The Kohaku clan use a double tomoe on their insignia

Sasuke gained this eye during the Land of Waves arc, while locked in a battle with Haku. Even with Naruto fighting on his side, their opponent seemed too powerful to overcome. However, Sasuke awakened the two-tomoe Sharingan when Naruto's life was in danger, demonstrating that emotional upheaval is a major trigger factor for these abilities. With time, the two-tomoe Sharingan allowed him to read the movements of characters such as Rock Lee, copy them, and use them in battle. Eventually, this eye evolved into a fully matured Sharingan with three tomoe.

While Naruto is jam-packed with some of the most iconic shonen fights there is one from the franchise that stands firmly as one of the best.

A Sharingan is known to mature completely when the user awakens all three tomoe in the eye. This is the strongest form of the regular Sharingan and an Uchiha with this eye can see to a much greater extent when compared to others. Sasuke awakened the three tomoe Sharingan during his fight against Naruto at the Valley of the End. After awakening this eye, he was able to keep track of the movements of Naruto in his One-Tailed Cloak, something that he couldn't do before.

Trivia

  • Hagoromo Otsutsuki began with the Mature Sharingan itself
  • A triple-tomoe design forms the Cursed Seal of Heaven

Furthermore, even Sasuke's movements changed completely, highlighting the advantages offered by the three tomoe Sharingan. This eye can also be used to cast powerful genjutsu, and as with all the other versions of the Sharingan, it can see through all ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu. While there are limits to it, a great user of the Sharingan can even surpass someone with an eye stronger than it with training. According to Tobirama Senju, any member of the Uchiha clan has the potential to speed up the development and evolution of the Mature Sharingan, especially if they're filled with hate.

3 The Mangekyo Sharingan Can Manifest Both Amaterasu & Susanoo

The Mangekyo Sharingan is one of the most powerful Kekkei Genkai in the Naruto series. It is an evolutionary form of the Sharingan and can only be awakened once an Uchiha undergoes the trauma caused by the death of someone very close to them. This power was first introduced to the fans with Itachi Uchiha before the time-skip in the story. Sasuke Uchiha acquired this power after fighting against his brother and emerging victorious.

Trivia

  • Overusing the Mangekyo Sharingan can lead to blindness
  • Obito used the Mangekyo Sharingan for ten years without eye problems

Learning the truth from Obito made him trigger the awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan. In any case, Sasuke's Mangekyo Sharingan has the power to use Amaterasu from one eye and control the black flames using the other one. A third power, known as the Susanoo, is also available to the Mangekyo Sharingan users and naturally, Sasuke is no exception to that. The drawback, however, is that the Mangekyo Sharingan tended to make Sasuke extremely tired. As a result, the Mangekyo Sharingan is clearly not the strongest eye in Sasuke's possession.

One of the biggest downsides of the Mangekyo Sharingan is that it causes the user to lose their eyesight with excessive usage. To counter this, the user must undergo a transplantation process in which the eyes of a blood relative are used to replace the user's deteriorating eyes. Madara Uchiha was the first person to do this and wreaked tons of havoc after obtaining the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Trivia

  • Only Sasuke and Madara have opened the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan
  • Madara got the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan from his brother Izuna Uchiha

After overusing his Mangekyo Sharingan, Sasuke was doubtful about using Itachi's eyes for a transplant. In the end, he accepted that his brother actually cared for him, explaining why he agreed to the operation. Sasuke tested the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan on White Zetsu, who was brutally stabbed by Amaterasu and vaporized. The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan is the highest form of the eye in the series and it allows for all the powers of the Sharingan to be used at a much larger scale.

1 The Rinnegan Is The Most Powerful Eye In Sasuke's Ocular Arsenal

Naruto: Shippuden Episode 424 "To Rise Up"

After meeting the Sage of Six Paths, Sasuke Uchiha was gifted half his power, with Naruto Uzumaki being given the other half. As a result, Sasuke's left Mangekyo Sharingan became a Rinnegan. This eye is known to be the strongest of all the Three Great Dojutsu in the Naruto world, superseding both the Byakugan and the Sharingan. The Rinnegan grants the Six Paths powers to the user, including the Human, Preta, Deva, Naraka, Asura, and Animal Paths.

Trivia

  • The Rinnegan loosely refers to the Buddhist domains of reincarnation
  • Momoshiki and Urashiki Otsutsuki have red Rinnegan instead of purple

The mythology of the Rinnegan asserts that the wielders are either destined to destroy the world or usher in an age of peace. As such, it's not surprising that this eye brims with immeasurable chakra. In fact, the Rinnegan is somewhat similar to Gojo's Six Eyes in Jujutsu Kaisen, in that it can perceive the flow of chakra (energy) itself. Alongside all those powers, Sasuke also has access to two space-time ninjutsu in Amenotejikara, which allows him to switch places with others over short distances. There's also another one that lets him open portals to different dimensions, such as those of Kaguya Otsutsuki. All things considered, the Rinnegan is easily the most powerful of Saskue's eyes.
