NASCAR plans to run it back at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The company announced on Sunday that the Busch Light Clash will return to the venue in 2023 after deeming last February’s exhibition race — won by Joey Logano in front of more than 50,000 — “an instant classic.”

The race on the 0.25-mile track will be held on Feb. 5, 2023 and will be broadcast on FOX, according to NASCAR. The Clash will be a lead-in to the Daytona 500, which will be held two weeks later.

“Our entire industry made a bold move by bringing the Busch Light Clash to the L.A. Coliseum this past February, and it paid off by becoming an instant classic with both new and existing fans,” NASCAR Senior Vice President of Racing Development and Strategy Ben Kennedy said in a statement.

“We are intent on showcasing our sport and drivers on the biggest stage, and there is none bigger than the L.A. Coliseum. We’re thrilled to return to the heart of Los Angeles to officially start the season and set the stage for the Daytona 500.”

The 2022 race marked the first time The Clash was held away from the Daytona International Speedway since 1979, a decision made after NASCAR’s “significant investment” to stage the event on a temporary oval inside the stadium exceeded $1 million.
