What in the world is wrong with me?!?! I have an insatiable desire to smell sharpie pens. Actually, sharpies, dry erase markers, cleaning solutions, wood, gasoline, paint thinner, or anything chemical. I’ve always liked the smell of weird things, but in the last week or two it’s ramped up to a compulsion. Today I saw a sharpie in a video, jumped up to find one, smelled it... and my mouth watered. I’ve read conflicting info on it being PICA. When it’s just smells and not tasting, is it something serious? And am I gonna hurt my baby? Anybody else going through this? Help!!! same thing is happening to me. love the smell of sharpies, gas, paint thinner and isopropyl alcohol. I never go out of my way to smell them because I fight the urge but it's a sign of iron deficiency so deff tell your dr! LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatesunnibee

Hahaha I feel your pain! My doctor said it’s tied to pica. The smell of tires (if I go by the auto department in Costco or Walmart) and the smell of lumber in Home Depot, not that I want eat them...but the smell is mouthwatering.

Just be careful especially since a lot of the items you listed do have fumes which could be harmful to your baby and you. Talk to your doctor and they may suggest upping certain supplements. LikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatesskshort15

I love it too but i don’t do it. Well that’s not true. I keep my kitchen sink very clean let’s put it that way.

I have been smelling essential oils safe for pregnancy on a wet wash cloth and that helps. I definitely think it’s pics and an iron deficiency. It will hurt baby and you to breath deeply of fumes so try not to! Good luck!!!! Like
