Nelson Ramon Cruz was a Major League Baseball player with the Milwaukee Brewers (2005), Texas Rangers (2006-2013), Baltimore Orioles (2014), Seattle Mariners (2015-2018), Minnesota Twins (2019-2021), Tampa Bay Rays (2021), Washington Nationals (2022), and San Diego Padres (2023). During the 2010s decade (2010-2019), Boomstick hit more home runs (346) than any other player in baseball history, ahead of Edwin Encarnacion (335 HRs), Giancarlo Stanton (308 HRs), Albert Pujols (290 HRs), and Mike Trout (285 HRs)! 2: Nelson Cruz won two (2017, 2019) Edgar Martinez Award. Originally known as the Outstanding Designated Hitter Award from 1973 through 2003, when Cruz won it the first time, he was the first Mariner to receive the honor after the name change. The previous winner from Seattle, was actually Edgar Martinez himself, a five-time recipient!

4: Nelson Cruz won four Silver Slugger Awards, one in the outfield (2015), and three as a designated hitter (2017, 2019, 2020).

7: Nelson Cruz is a seven-time Major League All-Star (2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2021), who was picked as the starter four times (2013, 2017, 2018, 2021).

9: Nelson Cruz had an extra-base hit in nine consecutive games, from July 31 2015, through August 9, 2015, the second-longest streak in Mariners' history, behind Ken Griffey Jr. (10 consecutive games, July 19-29, 1993).

11: Nelson Cruz hit three home runs in a game on July 25, 2019, the eleventh instance, by nine different players, in Twins history. When Cruz did it again that same season, on August 3, 2019, he became the first player in Twins history with more than one 3-homer game in a season!

38: Nelson Cruz hit thirty-eight home runs in 2017, the most by a designated hitter in Mariners history, breaking the record once held by Edgar Martinez, who had thirty-seven home runs in 2000.

493: Nelson Cruz hit a home run on September 24, 2016, that traveled 493 feet from home plate (Source = Statcast), the second longest home run hit that entire year, behind Giancarlo Stanton (504 feet on August 6, 2016).

When Nelson Cruz went deep during Game 1 of 2021 Division Series, he was 41-years, 98-days old, the second oldest player in baseball history with a home run during postseason play! Do you know the one player who was older than Boomstick? [Answer]

Did you know that Nelson Cruz hit his first home run with the Tampa Bay Rays, on July 23, 2021, it was his thirty-sixth home run, hit after turning 40-years-old, putting him in the Baseball Almanac record book for most home runs hit after turning 40?
