Hey guys! I have decided to make a topic on how to grow Nether Warts. A lot of people say they can't grow in the overworld and that it takes a long time to grow, but I decided to make a Nether Wart farm! Here are tips: ~Nether Warts are like the opposite of wheat. Wheat needs water to grow but Nether Warts need lava to grow faster (takes 3x faster than usual). ~Nether Warts can only be grown on soul sand ~Be careful harvesting Nether Warts! I made the Nether Wart farm in my wheat farm and placed Cobblestone around it. It ended up setting my farm on fire (it was made out of wood planks). ~I'd suggest putting the lava on the bottom instead on the middle. I ended up being set on fire even though I was on the edge. Um, no. Nether wart does not need lava to grow. "The growth rate is not affected by light or any other environmental factors. Bone meal has no effect on the Nether Wart." Get your facts right before you make a topic about growing nether warts... Rollback Post to Revision RollBack STOP! Pajama time.

Im going to test this lava thing, I dont think its right but you never know. Also could you explain how placing cobblestone next to nether wort set your farm on fire? Edit: the test is showing that nether word does not grow faster when near lava. I think the only tip on your list that is true is that you need to plant it on soul sand. This is correct. Nether Wart grows just fine as long as it is planted on soul sand, and the people saying it could not be grown in the overworld were either saying so prior to 1.3 or simply people that don't pay any attention to patch notes. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

I had lava in the middle of my Nether Warts and ended up catching some cobblestone on fire. Plus, these are my tips and opinions on how I farm. I always find Nether Warts taking two weeks to grow in the Nether. Rollback Post to Revision RollBack

nether wart does grow fast with lava i tested it (i tested it in a server) Herobrine.org survival apolo its a nice server but lets get on into the point here is a pic of nether wart in the server. nether wart does not need sunlight [bone meal wont work]
