Park Jae-Eon (Song Kang) is a university student, majoring in art. He seems nice to everyone and he is usually cheerful. Yet, he is really indifferent to others and he doesn't want to have a romantic relationship. Unexpectedly, he falls for Yoo Na-Bi (Han So-Hee) and begins to change. Yoo Na-Bi is an art student at the same university as Park Jae-Eon. In her past, she broke up with her first love due to his unfaithful ways. After that, decided to become unswayed by love. She then meets Park Jae-Eon and develops feelings for him.

Oct 22 2025 2:52 pm Another show with very mixed reviews, nevertheless, I’m firmly in the love it camp…!
The realism and the journeys the main couple go on, plus those of their friendship group, is very satisfying. The ML was not one dimensional and while much too sure of himself in the first half, in the second half of the show he’s in emotional free fall made worse by the knowledge it’s all entirely of his own making. I think Song Kang did a stellar job in bringing real depth and complexity to the Jae-Eon, I think he picks such interesting characters to portray. I loved Han So Hee as the FL too and the depth and strength she portrayed in Na-Bi. No mushy stuff as the earlier reviewer notes, no silly sound effects but a near pitch perfect Kdrama in my view.
The cherry on top is a gorgeous soundtrack and I also loved the approach to naming each episode, weaving in a reference to the show’s title.

Jul 11 2024 3:16 pm I think people don't like this drama because it's too real. In fact, the least realistic part is the ending, lol. The male lead is a red flag guy, but is upfront about his intentions. The female lead is so attracted to him, she starts a thing with him anyway and then gets angry at herself and him for it being exactly what he said it would be. This is not your cutesy marriage contract or enemies to lovers drama. It's about people who exist irl: the handsome guy who wants sex, not a relationship, and the girl who thinks she can change him.

I read the reviews, and I can't identify with them. I think it's a wonderful story about how love can change a person. Because this is what happens to the character portrayed by Song Kang. At the beginning, we see a conceited, rich boy, for whom it is natural to get all the women. But! in the meantime, it turns out that there is a hidden pain in his soul, because he never really experienced the feeling of love, so he didn't really know what it really means. But Na-Bi's stubbornness and honest feelings showed him that this feeling exists, albeit slowly, but we can follow how love spreads its wings in the boy's heart like a wonderful butterfly. They struggle all the way through the formation of their relationship, because they feel that they can no longer exist without each other. My soul was touched by this movie. May 31 2024 6:42 pm I love this K-drama; in fact, I've watched it several times now. I was so drawn into their acting; the characters are so realistic. A girl who fell for a red flag guy, hoping for him to change and be serious. I guess most of us girls ignore these red flag cues because it's quite challenging to make them change, when in fact, men will only change if they really love the girl. I love Song Kang's acting that even if he's a total jerk here I just cant hate him. lol Even if I were in the Na Bi's situation I would fall for that guy too and will definitely give it a try.

Then again i used to like this girl who's then so obsessed with the dude that i mentioned, so thats why i really dont like this drama. Its so much realistic that i hate to admit it... I hate that assholes such as this guy exist in the real world and some foolish girls are drawn to guys like this, not realizing that they have someone much better if they just stop obsessing with guys who treats girls like sex toys....

Oct 16 2023 1:30 pm I really liked the first few episodes but hated the rest. Jae-eon is an abusive and controlling character and a stalker. He follows Nabi and forces himself into her life knowing she can't refuse when he comes on strong. Is that realistic and relatable as others comment? Yessure. But that is a form of abuse and shouldn't be glorified in a TV show. I liked that the show was not afraid to show a broken and toxic relationship but the ending sends the wrong message that such behaviour is OK.

Kept rewatching several scenes in Netflix. I wish most Korean movies will be this realistic and relatable. Nice job from the cast

Jun 12 2023 10:16 am I really really liked this drama, It has been my favorite ever since i watched it, i actually waited for it at netflix then I realized it was available to netflix but my netflix account wont work for whatever reason !! anyway. i watched this at a website because i really wanted to watch this after waiting for long enough. i dont get why this kdrama gets hate? They really portrayed their own characters and roles so well that you can see the difference with their in real life personalities, i dont believe this is possible, like how good are you at acting ?? This is so good, i did really get upset when the rain breakup scene came up, i was shocked with how Park Jae Eon reacted and as well for Yu Na BI, I cant express how much i love this kdrama and how i constantly fell inlove with it, Song Kang drew me in because he was my all time FAVORITE male actor, and because he really is professional, he controls his feelings well and doesnt make his other co-actors uncomfortable, just like Han So Hee etc, he genuinely cares for his co-stars not in a romantic way, but as co-workers, he really is kind and attentive to things, he is so good in acting, he easily portrayed who Park Jae Eon really is and I thought that was a different actor !! im sorry how i just talk about Song Kang, i really just like him so much lolol, ANYWAY, i love this kdrama and noone can change my mind, i could feel the emotion of this show and i dont feel a blank feeling like how i feel with other kdramas, you wont understand if you're not in the same situation as Yu Na Bi, like imagine, your first love treats you like that and direspects you? Yu Na Bi and Park Jae Eon are relatable and realistic characters, Park Jae Eon didn't want a relationship but he always loved her in the first place, at the scene where they drank at Yu Na Bi's place, what Park Jae Eon did was wrong, its not excuse that he was drunk but what can we do? it already happened, and he chose Yu Na Bi in the end, the phone calls was his mom (it said so in their yt videos), I FELT BUTTERFLIES in this kdrama and now i love butterflies as the same reason why Park Jae Eon love them too :))

Okay probably people hate it when a kdrama already did 'that' in like the first episode. But its just a matter of preferences and i respect it. I agree, jae eon is a red flag. But do I think he didn't love her? He does love her. I think this kdrama is a realistic and a relateable one if you have been in the same situation as nabi. The characters can really portrays the emotion. Honestly nabi was a realistic character. Probably a lot of people who never experiences this would never understand. She wished for someone to love her and jae eon was the one who gives affection to her. Probably at some point she was thinking like maybe if she waited for a while he will change. But after some point she's tired. And I understand her. I think yeah he's a red flag when they did all that but he refuse to have a commitment. But he did get what he should get when she left him. I was of course mad when he said something during their break up. He sounds like a total red flag at some point. But the fl gave him a lesson by leaving him. And I think after that he realized, he loved her and if he wants to have her he should give her commitment or some changes in their relationship and try to recover their relationship. And there he goes. This is just a realistic romance. Probably a lot of people were thinking like she was dumb for not leaving him and still give him a chance, but guess what people can does change. And the way she still give him a chance means she still trust him. And its her choice if she wants to leave him or be with him again. Its the definition of "being with you hurts but without you hurts even more."
May 10 2023 3:41 am SPOILERS. I’m not really into romance genre but since the actors were Song Kang and Han So Hee so I gave it a try. I was moved by this series really. I’ve been in a situation just like Nabi. I know everything was wrong from the start but I really can’t resist the guy. I can relate to Nabi’s character. She only wished for true love. I guess if you’re really into someone, u will accept anything and be blinded by your love. There was this thinking that the guy will change for u.. and I think in the series, Jae Eon did, because he cares and likes Nabi in return. He can’t just express it well, or he has a different perspective about love. He’s not really a total j*rk. Yes, there was a red flag, but I guess if u really love someone, u have to accept his flaws. Jae Eon suffered from the consequences of his actions, I felt it on the latter episodes. The ending is good for me, at least for Nabi and Jae Eon - they chose each other. It may not be the right decision for both of them, but if u really love someone, u will adjust for each other. While this has a happy ending, mine is the other way around. I hoped for my own happy ending no matter how difficult the situation I’ve been in. It still boils down to our decisions in the end. As long as we’re happy and willing to face the consequences, then be it. I think that’s what the series is trying to point out.
Mar 19 2023 11:32 pm I love this plot, nice and soothing it's like I'm having a butterfly in my stomach? I can feel the emotions the same way back then when I watched the "Memories of Bali" between Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung. Love, hatred, jealousy and longiness. I like the simplicity of this story and I can feel the heavy emotions linger around within the main lead. So I can say is the main lead had a great chemistry.
I hope Han So Hee have more projects Without A Bed Scene!!!
So please!!! [Directors] Stop exploring Han So Hee she's a good actress without a bed scene.
Feb 23 2023 12:44 pm Just finished watching at 130am..where I started with no expectation and without a clue of how exactly the story went. Now, it left me with a feeling of angst and longing for my past because this was exactly how it went when I decided to pursue a no name relationship with a certain someone. You know it's wrong, and surely doesn't last long, but at the spur of a moment you thought about what it's like to just continue with it despite everyone's opinion because you thought it was love. I understood Na Bi's POV, as well as Jae Eon's too, in fact I loved how their characters are developed and depicted in this drama. They did the characters' justice just by portraying what would it be in reality.
I am already in my 30s so to have this theme of young love, lust, uncertainty, naive etc to portray the lives of young adult is very refreshing to me. So much so that I listened and watched every scene intently and trying to read in between the lines with every word spoken, with every look and touch.
Personally I feel that Jae Eon as a person is not bad at all, but because of his tendency to keep women around him it makes him looked like a serial dater. I can't help but to feel sorry for him when he said he didn't live with his mother since he was 10 yo. That can be a reason why he always needs to have someone so that he won't feel lonely and he enjoys the attention being given to him, as he didn't have the kind of attention and love from his mother. Could that be?
For Nabi..I feel for her..so much. I can feel my chest tightened whenever she is in a dilemma or trying to figure out what kind of a person Jae Eon is. The sleepless nights, the constant spacing out as an introvert, and her desire to be loved sincerely. It hurts to have someone who doesnt reciprocate the feelings back.
I'm actually really satisfied with the ending, as I would have done so too if I was given the chance again. This was the 8th year and I do still think about him once in awhile. So overall it's a 9/10 drama for me.

Aug 13 2022 4:25 am The vibe is youthful but mature. It also feels very sexy and exciting and you feel the romance and tension in the air. There's also warmth and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to battling with unrequited feelings for other people, the desire to be loved and wanting to be acknowledged by the person you like. The female lead frustrated me in the beginning (because girl? What the hell are you doing??). The sincerity of the feelings they have towards the people they like is lovely to see and the music is everything!!!

I first watched this when it was released in netflix and I’ve been rewatching it a couple of times already this past few weeks. That’s how much I love it xD
Jul 18 2022 6:55 am OKok, when I recently saw the second episode, i'm like "Woaaaahhh Not Ughhh" cause he kisses another girl "just because she wanted to try it?!" Like dude, if you really liked Nabi, ya never would've did that. Like why does he have to be a jerk ya'll? and why does she have to be so passive?! He's attractive don't get me wrong, but duuuuudeeee whhyyyyyyyyyyyy??

Jul 01 2022 7:48 pm An excellent drama. Could be called a "chick flik" by some, but it goes much deeper than that. There are multiple student relationships depicted in this drama. But the main female lead is in a relationship with someone who she knows is wrong for her, but because there is such amazing chemistry, raw sexuality and attraction, she just cant help herself. The depth of Yoo Na-Bi's attraction is countered by the lack of any real ability to communicate by Park Jae-Eon. He is a totally closed book and is completely unable or unwilling to express his feelings. Ultimately, Yoo Na-Bi is left feeling that she is in an empty one sided relationship with a guy who is a player and who she really doesn't trust. She knows that in the long run he will cheat on her and hurt her. After the initial relationship starts to fall apart, the remainder of the drama focuses on her feelings of loss, loneliness and confusion as well as some anger, resentment and jealousy. Park Jae-Eon is a guy who sets all the alarm bells ringing. Everyone knows (and he doesn't make a secret of it) that he has more than one girl on the go at any one time.
Interestingly, the very last scene actually suggests he may not be the only one to cheat or at the very least, that he may not be her sole interest. Park Jae-Eon is being hit on by 2 young women asking for his number. It looks like he may have entertained them only Yoo Na-Bi turns up at that moment. Anyway, while walking hand in hand with Park Jae-Eon she sees Yang Do-Hyeok in a coffee shop and pauses. She starts to pull her hand away from Park Jae-Eon while looking at Yang Do-Hyeok with interest. Then decides to continue holding hands with Park Jae-Eon. They walk on....

Apr 19 2022 3:53 am I decided to watch this drama and Navillera because I liked songkang from forecasting love and weather, I don't know but I was confused by the acting main cast i can feel all their movements so awkward. I don't know what this drama wants to convey to the audience. Thank's God Navillera is a good drama after Forcasting love and Weather. I hope songkang does projects that have a strong meaning like Navillera and Forecasting Love and Weather for his next work besides of sweet home s2. i Love songkang
Mar 18 2022 9:14 pm I just finished watching this series. Wow I really enjoyed watching this series. This is amazing. Song kang and Han so hee had a great chemistry. I know lot of people talked about the sexual content of this series only.For some people this drama was a mess and meaningless. But, for me this drama was really good. I really love to the moments Park jae eon with Yu na bi. This drama is really dreamy. I love to that dreamy mode. I was really happy to see yu na bi end up with park jae eon not with yang do hyeok because Yang do hyeok had no chemistry with Yu na bi. Anyway this drama is really nice. The story and acting was superb. Also the cinematography is highly praisable. I really overjoyed watching this drama. I really recommend this to all who love watching romantic fancy dramas. Saranghae!!!
Mar 13 2022 3:24 am I actually love a lot of things in this drama; the cinematography, the casts, the osts, it was great. The plot is certainly not for teens or kids, but it depicts people who really does enter toxic relationships. Even the casts themselves said so that in real life, people should not be like Jae eon or Nabi. This drama is a lesson perhaps for some people and ofc it can't cater everyone. It's like a wakening call for those who enter toxic rel.
P.S. Jae eon in the webtoon ver is even more toxic lol, they even toned down in the drama version (here u can see Jae eon caring/and kinda warm to Nabi// webtoon Jae eon is cold af)

Feb 25 2022 9:09 am I love this drama. I think the ppl who consider the sexual scenes too much should be labeled as kids. The plot was on point. I literally couldn't get my eyes off my phone till I was done with the movie. It was more realistic than most romance kdrama I have watched when they don't go extreme in their relationship. The main characters' attraction was irresistible and even though they know it will lead to pain and no good, they are prepared to take the risk at the end.
Kuddos to the actors and directorsJan 16 2022 7:30 pm So first of all this isn’t a bad drama at all.Its just not an average drama.It shows much things like toxic relationships and the way its hard to leave them even if their bad.Lust and love.I loved that art was a big point at this drama.It had many sides.It showed what love is in so many different sights.Like:First Love/Lust/Obsessions/Moments/Jealousy.SPOILER:I loved the realistic sight how nabi couldn’t reject him because her love towards him was to strong.Jae-eon also realized at the end that he liked her.YES,it took him a while to realize.It also showed much jealousy like:where nabi said that park jae-eon loves doing it while having a ponytail on & where jae-eon walked in with nabi even though he saw do-hyeok outside.After all i already watched the drama like 4 times its also perfect to binge watch.Also this is all my opinion.(I also saw some people hating on song kang because of the role.Please remember its just acting and because the role is a red flag doesn’t mean that the actor is one.) As orangecactus mentioned down in the comments, "this is not a bad drama , its just a horrible plot". everything about this drama including the visuals, actors, chemistry was on point but the plot was horroundous. The plot had no direction, purpose and so all over the place and for me the plot is the deciding factor of a kdrama. Never seen a worse ending in a kdrama; how can the two leads have so much tension between them in the first 9 Ep and suddenly they having another sexual scene at the end. just terrible !!!!!!
all these new kdramas think they can get way with such poor plots by replacing it with soooooo many sexual scenes. I just finished the kdrama DONG YI and it had minimal sexual scenes but it was 10/10 and an elite kdrama because of its plot.
I would absolutely not recommend this kdrama to any one , total waste of time.

Dec 16 2021 2:05 am This show is definitely more enjoyable to those who have actually experienced the pains and ups and downs of a romantic relationship. I loved the intense chemistry, the tender moments, the friendships and the realistic portrayal of young love. If you're looking for a fairytale type of k-drama with a perfect romantic interest and a bubbly happy main character, you won't find it here. But if you're looking for a bittersweet, unique and genuine sort of story, this show is it. I love Nabi's quiet, self-possessed nature, and Jae-Eon's cocky but boyish and vulnerable moments. The rest of the friend group is also very charming and made me nostalgic for my college years in a sweet, funny way. There are still predictable moments and romantic tropes that we see in many K-dramas, but delivered with a depth of emotion that gives you butterflies (pun very intended). Overall, love the show. I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for a love story filled with human flaws and insecurities.

Nov 20 2021 6:48 am Can't remember the last time I disliked a kdrama This much. The story was just going around in circles every damn episode. I like him but he's trouble. I like him but he's not sincere. I like him but he won't make me happy... It was a pain getting through all episodes but I hate leaving dramas unfinished. The female lead Na-Bi was so detestable. Bit-Na and Kyu-Hyun were the only entertaining part of the drama. It's also like they tried to take a kdrama and 'westernise' it. Just awful and practically 0 rewatch value.

Oct 19 2021 3:08 am I can't believe the negative comments on this drama on Twitter, mostly from people who are either really young, just know of the plot of the webtoon which was even changed for the show or did not even care to finish the show because people quickly labelled it as "toxic".
I really think this show deserves a watch with an open mind. The directing and cinematography is beautiful. The chemistry is really good. You will be invested in ALL the characters' relationships, even the side ones. This might be the first kdrama I watched that portrays something that actually happens in young relationships -- miscommunication, mixed signals etc.. People don't automatically know how to express their feelings when dating and not always in the way their partners like or understand.
This show portrays that getting to know stage and whether or not you want to risk being in a relationship with someone you barely know. Idk I feel like maybe this was too ahead of its time.

This drama has an intense and different storyline than most drakors. the actors are also amazingly good. I didn't like the first episode, but in the end I rewatched it to better understand the storyline that had stopped before.

But as I see from the script I think the main lead actor finally realized that he had to change his way of life and became a better man and lover, because he learnt that it hurts so much to lose someone you love. It shows that people can change after learning from their mistakes. Song Kang and Han So Hee had good chemistry, the plot is so smooth, everything is on the right place. I'll put it on my fave kdrama list. Goof Job, director - nim and writer-nim!

The unrealistic love most dramas portray is okay? Obviously even those acting them don’t have that kind of love. This is reality and it happens a whole lot. Dramas and movies are not supposed to have happy sweet sweet meaningful meaning all the time. Nice drama I totally enjoyed it. Wouldn’t pick the male lead if I were Na-Bi but totally understand her.

This is really a good drama and reflects on a lot of the relationship nowadays. It also teaches us to be mindful of our words and actions, to say out your actual feelings instead of hiding them.

Everyone experiences toxic parts of a relationship, but that doesn't mean that people can't grow from these experiences. It's nice to see a kdrama not play out like every other one where everyone is perfectly redeemable in the end because that isn't how relationships are. People make mistakes, withhold their feelings, and hurt each other. It may not be right and we all wish it didn't happen, but it does! It is up to the them to decide if they will forgive those mistakes and do better. And maybe it won't work out in the long run, but that doesn't mean you have to give up right away.
Ok philosophical rant over! The acting was amazing, the chemistry between Na Bi and Jae Eun was *chef's kiss* and all of the side stories really tied the show together. Well done to everyone involved!

I disliked Jae-eon's personality and also some of Nabi's personality traits. Lack of communication between the characters was irritating. I disliked how Jae-eon never explained anything, he just let people and especially Nabi keep assuming stuff. Extremely manipulative. I hoped for her to end up with the second lead, her story with him was super sweet and I enjoyed their time together way more. A girl would be pretty stupid to end up with a guy like Jae-eon if it happened in real life but .. that's a kdrama for you.
Sep 14 2021 8:48 am "Nevertheless" is beyond my expectation. Love this k-drama till the end. The storyline flows like water, so natural... What I love the most is the perspective. Most of the time, we only have the female lead actor voice, emphasizing that Na Bi's confusion is the main conflict in this drama. Then, the male lead actor's voice appear later on (start in episode 8, if I'm not mistaken...). This one shows Jae Eon's heart who started to develop his feelings toward Na Bi. As I remember, I haven't seen any k-drama using such perspective. Thumbs up to script writer(s) and director..!
Second, I really love the ambiance of the university. It reminds me to my heyday in campus :) I wish can return to my university life and study again..!
Last but not least, all casts are well-chosen and they played well together. The chemistry among the actors is strong, as if they are true college friends. The soundtracks fit well with the theme and the emotion.
I haven't read the comic, but the ending is not disappointing for me. Not because I worship the relation between Na Bi and Jae Eon, but I'm relieved that finally Na Bi knows what she wants, although she knows the consequences. Very realistic! Again, thumbs up to script writers (of the original version/webtoon and of the drama version) and to director for your interpretation..!!!
Sep 14 2021 1:48 am Loved this. Thought it was one of the best love stories I have seen. I loved the young actors, loved the storyline and the reality. Have become a fan of Korean films and have gained a strong respect for the writing and acting to the point where I am choosing them over our western films. The only thing I have found slightly irritating is the unreality of many of the love stories. While I have no wish to see to see the kind of graphic sex scenes often depicted in Hollywood movies, I do want a more genuine portrayal of two people in love. ‘Nevertheless’ is the only story to include this so far. I enjoyed ‘Something The Rain’ as well, because it was also believable, but many of these wonderful plots are, to me anyway, let down by omitting to the reality of what actually would occur between people in love. The writers of ‘Nevertheless’ have created a beautiful, believable love story that has been captured so well by everyone involved. The two lead actors, as well as the supporting cast, totally had my heart in their hands almost from the very beginning. Well done Korea. You have found a devoted fan of your wonderful movies.

And nevertheless give us a whole new kinda k drama with artistic aspects. I like the ending. They love each other and they will learn from their past mistakes. The heart really wants what it wants.. Love their chemistry is on another level. Song kang and so hee so amazing! Everyone in this drama, the cast, the director, the writer, and all the staff, did such a great work. Sep 06 2021 3:09 pm the first 5 episodes were mesmerizing, the (sexual) tension between the main characters was totally hot. plotwise and personal taste-wise I was a bit disappointed by the latter half, but I really like how it was filmed and I'm still swooning over most of the characters from the other couples. in my opinion after some while the second lead turned creepy, so I couldn't enjoy the scenes with him as much as the other stuff. sadly, the second half consisted of a lot more scenes with him than the first. but since the first half was so good and I really liked everything else - from side character's personalities and stories to the camera frames, perspectives and shots - I feel this drama series has somehow caught me off guard and is special.
also bonus points for lgbtq+ representation! <3
Sep 04 2021 3:39 pm I was surprised to read some of the comments as it seems that many people disliked Nevertheless,. To me this drama was one of the best I've seen because it was different in a way of shooting but also characters were likeable and interesting. Ending was surprising to me too, as I would never date someone behaving like Jae Eon even though he was very attractive (not only his looks but just him, as a person). .. He was kinda annoying to me and I'd never have a patience for someone who keeps playing games and can't even say straight-forwardly how he feels. But then, it was nicely explained in drama - he has a mother who is distant to him, no father... No wonder he is such an emotional cripple. Also, Nabi's character was not boring. She was not a complete victim character I could see many times in Kdramas - not assertive, completely passive etc. She had a personality, she was wounded so she got herself into something toxic - all logical... I really liked the soundtrack as well, I'm listening to it. All in all, it's a pity if this drama is not appreciated. Really, really ejoyed it and want to see more dramas like that!
I also saw some comments here saying it's bad that this drama is not exactly the same as the webtoon but I actually think this is really good when book and it's ecranization are not the same. It's more interesting this way.

Aug 31 2021 5:59 pm So I've binge watched all episodes, and I tell you it gets better every single time! Those 2 have fantastic on-camera chemistry! I wish there had been more than 10 episodes, there were still 2 loose ends that could've been tied up, namely the Seol-a problem, and Nabi's emergence as an artist in her own right. Those 2 had more in common than their sex appeal and art, what about the fact that both of them had unresolved "Mommy" issues? The pain on both their faces whenever the subject came up should not have been left unaddressed. How much closer would full disclosure by both parties would have brought those two!! I also wanted to get to the truth of the mystery bar girl and her slugger brother. Nabi needed to know there was more to it than what met the eye.. I also wished she had taken him up on going to see the butterflies, that was a very private part of Jae that she didn't get to see. I also think too much time was wasted on the not-going-anywhere Do-Nabi relationship. More time could have been devoted to the above mentioned issues. I have one more aspect to contribute: I see this series having a whole new teen "cult-following" in about 10 years.. as young folk watch this series, they're going to be following the Na-Jae romance because many will have similar challenges, I'm telling you... so get ready to reunite this hot couple in 2031!

Aug 29 2021 9:21 pm I'll try to organise my thoughts better a little later but I've now watched this three times over and i have found it even more interesting once you rewatch it.
I am really impressed with the acting and the arrangement/direction. The subtle shifts in mood and attitude of each character at various points in their interactions. Being with them as they agonise over their choices. I've been through it too (as I'm sure others have) second guessing yourself and trying to protect yourself. Being an asshole or being mean and not being able to control your emotions. Not always seeing what you may have done wrong and just being upset with the other person. Making what could appear to be a foolish choice but your heart wants what it wants. Undeniable chemistry. I think they captured these kinds of battles really well. Plus, how important communication is! How different would things have been if Na-bi had told Jae-eon that she liked him (the first time they argued after the police station, or even prior)? If Jae-eon had honestly told Na-bi how sincerely he felt for her instead of falling back into his ways? If they had been mad at each other and just said what they had to say instead of letting it fester and reach that boiling point? I think we have all been there and said or done what we shouldn't or not said and not done what we wanted.
I liked the ending. I personally am quite satisfied with the drama ending, in fact I like the little twist they put on it (in comparison to the webtoon ending - the little coffee shop moment of pause). I think the characters in the drama needed this ending in the same way the characters in the webtoon needed the ending that they had.
All of the cast had great chemistry and all had lessons to learn from. I really enjoyed it and I'm sad it was only 10 eps but I think it suited the story. Now...we need a Song Kang and Han So Hee reunion in another drama or movie because their chemistry is *chefs kiss*. In fact I think all of the couples and interests had good chemistry. I'd like to see them all in more dramas!

Aug 29 2021 12:33 pm they should have just stuck to the webtoon, honestly. this was really disappointing. the writers wanted to milk having Song Kang as the male lead but they did a disservice to the characters. he wasn't redeemable and Nabi actually found the strength to work on herself and try to find happiness afterwards. As a fan of the webtoon and how nuanced and respectful the creator was in developing these relationships, the drama is like a slap in the face.
only plus side of this drama was the LGBT+ representation. that's the only relationship worth watching.

In a perfect world Nabi would've ended up with Do Hyuk, but we all know how far from perfect this world is. Being completely aware of all the bull and toxicity we nevertheless go head on into relationships we know wont last or is not good for us. I applaud the writers for telling a different story from the typical dramas, because in reality the "main guys" in our lives are no Do Hyuk. This was a raw taste of our reality and I loved it.

It’s life, accept it. Dramas can’t be all sugar coated. Na Bi chose a life of risk and excitement over boring predictability. Jae Eon chose to take a risk and try a relationship, admit he had feelings. Great ending. Think how boring her life would have been with the second lead. They both grew. Second couple very cool too. Great to see a realistic look at life, sad the ratings weren’t higher. I’ll watch again.

Maybe it's because I know how it ends and therefore I can be less anxious and concentrate on the other details a bit more and not just Nabi's perspective all the time? I swear, all the signs were apparently already there early on in the drama.. we just missed them the same way nabi did. Ahh, interesting storytelling by the director!

Aug 24 2021 2:58 am (SPOILERS!) Everyone is talking about Jae-on and Nabi dating in the end. I don’t think that they really are dating. I think it’s the same kind of relationship as before, like friends with benefits but without all the lies. Nabi finally spoke about her feelings which she hid for so long and Jae-on doesn’t sleep with other girls while beeing with Nabi. The reasons I think so are that in the end the two girls asked Jae-on if he has a girlfriend and he just replied „I have plans“. He could say yes but he still doesn’t want to label a relationship. One more sign is that when Nabi sees Do Hyeok she kind of regrets her decision because she is slightly letting go of Jae ons hand, but than she is holding his hand again, which means that she made her decision to stay in this undefined relationship. She was probably thinking „I could be in a healthy happy relationship with Da Hyeok“ but she made her decision to go after her feelings. I don’t want to judge because everyone is free to decide what kind of relationship she wants but Nabi was clearly not okay with Jae ons understanding of a romantic relationship. So I think that they made a compromise. They are not an official couple, girlfriend and boyfriend but Jae on can not be with other girls when they want to be together. Thats why Nabi forbid Jae on to get pets in the and. I think that the butterflies represented all the meaningless girls in his life and he let go of all of them by opening the window in one scene. And as he was asking if they should get a cat, a new pet, Nabi is strictly against it and reminds him of the butterflies. So all in all Nabi decided to stay in a toxic relationship with Jae on but she is more open about her feelings and is no longer doing everything he wants. That should be a happy ending I guess..

pros: 1. The LGBT representation (Yoon Sol and Seo Ji-wan) in the SK society which is still somewhat close minded about gay couples. Their overall story and the plot is amazing 2. The amazing OST 3. Bi-na's character and her plotline 4. Cinematography
cons: 1. The main characters and their toxic relationship. Throughout the drama the male lead is mentally abusive, manipulative, a liar, cheat, and a flirt. By the end, he becomes physically abusive when he doesn't seem to get the girl. The female lead is so pathetic she walks in circles and keep on choosing the playboy guy. By the end of episode 8 it seems like she masters her courage but no, she still goes back to the beginning self. 2. Harmful message given to the viewers. The viewers are being told that no matter how the relationship is toxic, its good to be with them since they are hot and good in sex! 3. The main story. The whole "relationship" among the main leads were built solely on sex and lies. There is no communication between the main leads. We don't get to know the reasons why the male lead is a compulsive liar, why his mother lives separately, why he is obsessed with butterflies, why he had an obsessed ex girlfriend, why he couldn't leave her... nothing is explained. 4. The good-guy was just an option not to be chosen since "he is ideal, yes, Na-bi was happy with him, but he is not good looking enough" 5. THE ENDING! Even though the drama is a webtoon adaptation, it deviates from the original ending to go with a twist that only ends up lame and making the whole drama worthless!
Verdict: This drama could have been great! Neverthless...

They have good ost too and always play it at the right scene. But a big no for the story. They really romanticizing toxic relationship, and the lead characters are suck. Even until the end, nabi can’t make choices to love herself. For everyone who like the ending I seriously advise you to AVOID someone with jae on characters in real life. Like really, if you caught once by them it’s so hard let it go, you’ll end up getting hurt and making same mistakes over and over again, just like nabi in the drama.
Aug 22 2021 8:27 am i just finished the last ep and i must say its annoyingly satisfying? xD i hate how nabi has no backbone lol she's just so pathetic. in the end, she's the one who crawled back to jae eon even tho she already pushed him away a bajillion times. also, i hate the line where jae eon asked nabi if she'll regret being with him and nabi said she obviously will because i feel like it connotes that jae eon will still be a jerk? is that how love works? that no matter how intimidated and hurt you were with that person, you'll still choose to be with him? but on the bright side, it did seem like jae eon changed for the better. seeing him teary-eyed is so new and satisfying to see. and do hyeok, poor boi. i feel like he's ideally a better pair for nabi, even tho they say nabi does not deserve do hyeok, i feel like he's what nabi needs: someone who's always there for her, gives her assurance that she's loved, and doesn't treat her like a toy. do hyeok is very sincere and refreshing. but then again, its quite satisfying.

People have been saying Jae-on was manipulative. From the very beginning, it was clear what type of relationships he was into. He hooked up with lots of women but never did he promise anything more. And it was always up to the women, including Nabi, to give in to his charm. He knew the trick that would make them interested and used his good looks and charm to grab their attention and they all did.
“Friends with benefits” - both allowed for their relationship to go here, with Nabi having more expectations and getting emotionally invested and attached eventually. Which made it “toxic” for her because it confused her and made her anxious because she wanted more. Yet Jae-in’s character never promised anything from the start. It was only later on that we see how Nabi started to mean more to Jae-on than a casual fling.
All of us have been hoping for a better Jae-on, for him to be serious with his relationship with Nabi. Yet week after week til the 9th episode, his progress was slow. He even made mistakes which caused his relationship with nabi to “end for good”. Gradually though, we saw some changes in him - a glimpse of how affected he was and reflecting on his past encounters with Nabi, how his expression was more sad and remorseful when Nabi ended things with him, how jealous he was over DH and NB’s close friendship and in episode 10, how greatly bothered he was by how angry Nabi was with him.
And when Nabi said their relationship was over, he respected her decision. He even promised not to bother her anymore after the project was complete. Did he manipulate her? NO. He started as a player who knew exactly how to capture the interest of women. But I wouldn’t say it was manipulating coz he merely used his charm and likeability to get them interested. In the end, he even visited the exhibit when nobody was around. It didn’t seem like it was his intent to manipulate Nabi. In fact, he went late night when nobody was around, to see Nabi’s sculpture, not for Nabi to see him. But Nabi saw him. And could not even believe what she was seeing (“unrealistic” even for her).
In the end, we saw a Jae-on who realized how much Nabi meant to him and was willing to take a step towards a more serious relationship with her. He wasn’t as expressive as what we hoped for - shouting out love his love for Nabi like the usual male leads, yet seeing him deeply saddened when he left after finishing the project and shedding tears after they decided to date, clearly shows how the Jae-on in the end did change and was sincere.
We’ve always seen in previous episodes how much he expressed his concern for Nabi through his actions - caring for her and being thoughtful. Like Nabi, we too doubted him and can say possibly he did it with other women. But in episode 10, we see his genuine concern to help Nabi get through her low moment and was interested to see the exhibit even without telling Nabi or making her expect he would be there. He didn’t lead her on in the end. He cared for her silently (when she was asleep) and was excited to see the final project of Nabi without her knowing he visited.
The changes in him aren’t like the usual male leads we are used to seeing - but they were true to his character. They were realistic. The writers didn’t change him drastically in just a few months. Only time will tell..
As for Nabi, she was simply true to herself and her feelings. Finally, she said it out loud. Everything she has kept in her heart on how she truly felt about Jae-on. And she was also able to remember in episode 10 how natural their relationship is. She saw how he cared for her though his actions, without verbalizing things. She took a risk and loved freely despite the possibility of getting hurt again. By doing so, Jae-on finally verbalized he liked her a lot and we see them dating in the final scene.

Nevertheless portrays very realistic relationships unlike a lot of kdramas out there. Nabi's personality was rather boring and her endless vacillating was rather annoying but also all too real. Any girl in that situation would always be battling their feelings, second guess their choices because they know its a toxic relationship. Jae On was not just an asshole. I dont know how he was portrayed in the webtoon but in the drama, he was a player who developed real feelings for Nabi. So he was not just a jerk. He was a jerk who fell in love. Since it was a new thing for him, he was pretty much in denial of those feelings. There was this inner conflict of new feelings grappling with wanting to stay in his safe, comfort zone of non-committal relationships.
The 2 actors had this sizzling on-screen chemistry. So what could have been very boring too watch was not.
Some people were rooting for Mr. Nice Guy Do-Hyeon. Really? Exactly what did he have going for him? That he wasnt a player like Jae-on? So what? Quite a boring 2nd lead. His choice was to remain in the background, not do anything much, did not even confess till much later. Spineless mild mannered twerp who did not fight for Nabi. And to top it off, he had nothing in common with Nabi other than coming from the same elementary school and home town.
Some people said they were more into the supporting cast relationships. Okay but Bit-na was just the female Jae-on and Her relationship was just as toxic.
The ending make up dialogue could have been better but overall I am satisfied. There was not a pretense of "happily ever after". It is a very realistic let us go out, there are likely to be problems but let us see where this goes.

Aug 22 2021 4:23 am it still good until episode 9, but the ending is soooooo lame. i'm not dissapointed with the fact that its different than the webtoon ending, but the way they set up Jae-Eon and Na-Bi at the end is way too boooooring after all the tensions. and why must they suddenly makes Jaeon a cry baby on the last episode? really, all the aesthetics from eps. 1 was fall apart into nothing with such an ending. i like the side characters love story, but with only 10 episodes, they only do dirt to Do-Hyeok as the second lead character and his background that actually makes the story interesting. well, there's some lessons to learn about relationship with no boundaries and accepting your partner as they are. but still, the original story is about dealing with toxic relationship, why always make a different ending?

First of all, I just wanted to mention that I know this show has a lot of mixed feelings around it, but I think we should all try to understand that everyone has their own interpretations, and we shouldn't be shaming others for how they feel about this show and the ending.
Okay, now that's out of the way, I personally enjoyed this show very much and looked forward to it every week. This story centralized on the idea of uncertainty and how much of it can make or break a relationship. Although it was slow burner, the directors surely showed the development of all the characters and the certainty of their emotions, especially Na bi and Jae eon. I know this is controversial, but people can change, even the worst ones. No one can be sure that every individual that has been at a low in their lives will be like that forever, and I think that was what the writers were trying to portray. With Jae eon, although he isn't perfect, he tried so much to change for himself and his happiness once he realized his lifestyle wasn't bringing him any joy. I don't believe he just changed for Na bi. However, she did play a role in it, but I think she was just the final turning factor for Jae eon (especially if you notice in a past episode how even his mom was trying to help him). She helped bring the best out of him and eventually in the end he brought the best out of her. Everything they experienced together was all necessary for them to grow as individual’s that are capable of working through hardship and insecurity (and I think that goes for the side characters as well).
Additionally, I just strongly believe that there was just something so beautiful about this drama that its hard to put into words. Even in the moments where there was no talking you could just see the pain, love, desperation and so much more just from their eyes. I would even go as far to say that the body language was the biggest part of the communication between them before they could say how they feel in words. And for me, that was just so compelling and refreshing to be able to soak in the moment with them and not worry about reading subtitles.
There really is so much I can say about this show, but I don't want to continue rambling on forever. However, I truly loved everything about this and how the ending felt like a new beginning as they all turn to another chapter of their lives. And to be honest, I don't really think I'll be able to move on from this drama for awhile. They executed a story I've been wanting to see on screen so perfectly that I will just keep coming back to rewatch and reminisce on those happy moments when I first watched it.

This is not a bad drama, it just has a horrible plot. Nabi's character feels flat and her choices in life are just really bad. Jae on is a jerk that has no idea how communication works. Many of the problems they had together were the result of miscommunication on both sides. On the other hand I loved the side characters. Bitna,Sol,Jiwan and the others really carried the show towards the end. The OST is incredible I truly liked the song choices for this drama. Also the cinematography is really good, it really feels different than other kdramas. Potato boy deserves someone who truly likes him so I'm glad him and Nabi didn't happen. I just wish the dramas plot was written more realisticly and Jae On wasn't such a toxic person. Nabi shouldn't have gone back to him imo bc toxic people like him don't just change so fast or even at all in real life. Overall I liked the drama but not the storyline.

If Jae Eon really like and love Na Bi from the beginning, he should not act like that, he's really the toxic character here. And Na Bi is the most stupid female lead I've ever seen, every episode just like a cycle for her, love Jae Eon, getting hurt by him, angry, love him again, and again and again. Not worth to watch even this drama only has 10 episodes.

As i was approaching the 2nd half, i was thinking why nabi should end up with either jar eon or do hyeok? Nabi could have not choose any of them and make peace with herself. I also realized that there's no way nabi would end up with DH since the posters, all the interviews revolve around so hee and song kang. DH's room was soooo so small. I realized that wishing nabi endgame with DH is like wishing Start Up's Dal Mi ends up wigh Ji Pyeong,which was impossible as much as many people wished 2nd lead would win.
Back to this series. A step back and reviews to the overall story: 1. Not the best kdrama i've ever seen, not gonna rewatch and I'm glad it's over. Not hating this drama but i have no attachment at all with this drama. The story is not strong, there arr a lot of light drama but packed beautifully and still have lessons to learn. Too bad bcs the main leads are really beautiful and good at acting. Love song kang and so hee
2. Nabi is very flat! Don't get it how someone that flat, lack of expression, unspirited could have 2 hot guys chasing her. Sorry nabi, just dislike your sloooow walking, lack of words, and how you waste your college days just thinking about jae eon. Even the interacton among her friends are more interesting than nabi herself. Love bitna, sol, and the gang. Nabi was barely hang out bcs she was busy from morning til midnight just thinking about jae eon.
3. Jae eon. Do you all believe a personality that has been crafted for years could change in a course of a week/month? I'm not convinced at all jae eon could be sincere. I wish the writer and director could make a scene deeper like we could understand why jae eon did what he did and how nabi break him from that presumably trauma?
4. The ending ughhh!!! Ok i won't complain who nabi end up with but it's just so wth moment that nabi has to be the one who approached him, grabed his hand, asked him out, kissed him. At least if i should move my ship from DH to JE, i want to see jae eon saying more sincere words to nabi, not the otherwise.
Nevertheless, glad it's finished. Hope to see song kang in a good series in youth/teenager theme just like cha eun wook's true beauty or my id is gangnam beauty. Song kang would be dreamy in that kind of series. Peace out!

Nevertheless, the folks that wanted Nabi and potato boy together deserve a good thrashing... 1) Nabi was the one who began the dishonesty in their relationship from the beginning by not allowing Jae to say they were together, even if, at that time, it may have been FWB status; 2) I really wanted him to tell her the real deal with Seol-a.. NO WAY were Jae and Nabi spending THAT much time together could he have a real relationship with Seol-a, but even with that he's such a gentleman thug he'd never dishonor Seol-a by telling the truth that she was a lying bi***. 3) I don't care how good a cook he was, Nabi would never have been happy with Do...overweight, yes..happy, no.. simply because Jae knew what made her happy: her art. And him. And the fact that he was willing to stay away from her if that's what she wanted... omg I was in crazy tears! 4) Y'all act like people don't have any redeeming qualities about themselves. After his conversation with his mom, Jae knew he had been dishonest with himself about his own feelings for a long time. He started to come around, but the proof was in the pudding with the argument in the rain with Nabi. Omg what a scene! 5) How in the hell could the show end with the 2 main characters Not Together??!! The writers had me on the edge of my seat till the end, but I'm glad Nabi chose the love of her life over a life of noodles.. thanks for another K-Drama happy ending!

Sweet potato guy or Do Hyeok might not end up with Nabi because she is really in love with JE and he did not fight hard enough for his love . Jae Eon who once a playboy finally learn the real meaning of love for the first time with Nabi. Time will only tell if they will grow old together . Young love is for all of us. True love is not for all. We should learn to love ourselves first . Nevertheless is a modern day drama to watch . The lead actors were great . Song Kang is charming as always !!

For me, the whole story is indeed very, very passive like there is so much silence. I agree that Nabi is really pathetic but maybe that's how the character was planned to be portrayed. And many said that Song Kang is kinda expressionless (?), but isn't that exactly the personality of Jaeon that he needs to show?
I do love this drama no matter how stupid people see it, I guess sometimes life events and incidents are 'stupid'. And 'drama' is......isn't it the adjective to express something too much? So I didn't see anything faulty about it, and girl should not learn about love from a drama.

I watched "The world of the married" and "hot stove league" and were impressed with both han sohee and chae jonghyeop performance in their previous dramas but there is something wrong with them here.. and for song kang, this is the first drama of his I watch and he isn't impressive as his fans always claim him to be.. probably the problem is the way this drama is written and directed.. this drama is poorly directed and written, the atmosphere is so awkward to the point the actors can't save them

He was very tender and gallant as he tied his jacket around her waist. Her later reaction was childish, as she throws the face-saving article of clothing on the floor. This was just the beginning of her childish antics. She never gave him a break, she set the tone for the relationship by lying to Bitna that they had never met when they had. I'm hoping she goes off in the sunset with Dough, let him cook and feed her forever, because Jae is waaaaaaay too talented and sexy for her.

Aug 15 2021 2:19 pm A lot of people saying this drama is too slow paced, boring, etc. But for me I think this drama really did a great job in the interpretation of feelings and emotions. After all, what it matters is the character development as this drama is strongly emotion orientated. Both sohee and song kang did a good job on executing their roles. As we know that jaeeon had not received much love in his childhood days, so that he may be vague on his own feelings and on how he should express it, also now he also finally realises it and made changes, I feel pity for him. Though I really hope to see nabi ending up with jaeeon I think this drama will have a good chance wrapping up with nabi focusing on her own self growth later on. 1 more ep. left but imma leave it here to see if my prediction is corrrect :)

It's time kdrama stopped rewarding badly behaved people. You can keep toiling with someone's feelings and keep feigning ignorance, all of a sudden you want her because you are jealous and not because you realized how you feel.
She can end up with Do hyeok or rediscover herself alone.

If he loses out to the boring second lead guy who is just a nice guy, dependable, can cook and take photos and would never play around, her life would be dull, dull, boring. Please give Song Kang some guts to say what he thinks and have some spark. She would have an exciting life with him.
The second couple are great, Bit Nah and Kyu Hyun, Love their story and the 2 girls. But please let the lead couple work out and give them some zip. Maybe she gets into a life threatening situation and he saves her at the last moment and they realise their true feelings and he finally admits something. Jae-eon was angry and has never been in this position before and as the words of hurt came out he just didn’t realize this relationship was like no other and he tried to protect himself but in the end destroyed it.
As much as I would like her to feel passion and love, it is just not her time, she needs to fine and redefine Na-bi (self).
They both have growing up to do.I think it is slow yes, please hold on for one more episode.

It's all about the internal landscape of attraction so if you thrive on action over implication this will not be your kind of drama, BUT if you want to dissect the train wreck as it's happening, this is your kind of show! So sad that there is only one episode left...

It’s not that the actors are bad but you can’t tell because the director and producers have a time slot to fill and are forcing all the actors into slow motion. The story line needs more... just more. The secondary cast is wasted with not enough to do. It has potential to be better but this late in the story there’s nothing they can do. You can’t edit in what isn’t filmed.

The last episode it's like slightly hinting to Jaeeon again buuuutttttt I want the ending to be either she ends the relationship with Jaeeon by finishing her last project and they split and she lives happily with Dohyeok or she rejects both of the guys as she wants to work on herself and grow more as a woman.

Aug 14 2021 3:29 am I’ve commented reviews before for this kdrama, but I am still shocked to see how I still can’t predict the ending, especially as a frequent kdrama watcher who usually can. Lets just say I’ve been anticipating every episode to see what happens next. I’m both looking forward to it and also nervous cause all this waiting and hoping for a good ending can easily be ruined with a show like this where there is a lot of push and pull between the romantic interests. The crew can either decide to give us around 3 endings: 1. Jae eon changes and nabi dates him, 2. she goes with potato boy because she drifts apart from Jae eon and his uncertainty, or 3. she chooses no one and focuses on her self growth.
Anyways, usually I don’t think about an ongoing kdrama this much but as you can tell it’s been occupying my thoughts so much that I just keep coming back to write more reviews. Hopefully the last review I write will be a good one when the series ends, praying for a good ending??

When Na-bi and Sol talked to their teacher and told Nabi she should give up going overseas and the friends said Na-bi never joins school events, as in extracurricular activities and student get-togethers.... my reaction was what does she do with her time then? I’ve never seen a chemistry as intense as both Song Kang & Han So Hee. The storylines are realistic too & it happens in real life. Come on. You know you can’t choose love. Love chooses you. You can’t just settled for the one who loves you just because they’re ‘nice’. You’ll end up miserable. If you’re gonna end up miserable, at least spend it with the one you really love. You might get a broken heart or you might not. But it’s a chance you have to take. Enjoy life while your still young. Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. Anyway, I’m going to watch the drama till the end. I want JE & NB to find their true selves. Love conquers all. Thanks #JTBC for introducing Nevertheless as well as both Song Kang & Song Hee into my world. Whatever the ending will be, i’m team JaeBi forever ??❤️❤️

i totally ignored the rating as its taken from jtbc viewership only but the views from Netflix does not being counted. this is the only korean drama listed in top 10 worldwide in Netflix and actually top 1 for several countries.
i have seen a lot of comments but i hope my comment will give positive vibes to people who has workhard throughout the process of drama making. i will keep watching till the end!

Aug 08 2021 3:12 pm I think its too timing that Ed Sheeran’s new release song “Bad Habit” is the best song theme for this kdrama. I just started watching this and i wanna say its a real life situation now a days. The actors and actresses on my opinion are giving their best to portray their roles. Song kang is very different in this role flirtatious but not over reacting his role and maybe is just being careful too to his leading actress. I just finished episode 4 and i read some comments that the next episodes were disappointing for some and for the others were not. Whatever it is, i will still look forward to watching it until the end, nevertheless! Keep it up, there still room for improvements! Loving it!

Here, both his character and HSH annoy me. The story needs to pick up more to give justice to the two fine leads. Please don't waste the potentiality of this project. Everyone is waiting for some elated and competent scenes. It's pulling some momentum down.

If you experience the love you will eventually hurt. We have to love and respect ourselves before loving another person. Idk that feeling. I'm just trying to understand their emotions in the story. I think it's hard to experience things like that. Having a relationship with your friend is not good also. It's better to be friends forever than a lover. You can never gain back your friendship if you break up. I like the cast. They are so good. Thank you to handsome Song Kang and beautiful Han So-hee. Hope to see them in another project.

I don't see anything wrong him pursuing Na bi because she could turn him down if she wanted to. I think Na bi is just so attracted to Jae-on and the sexual chemistry is there so that she can't let go. Jae-on has his moments but is literally so openly toxic that she needs to let him go. Hands down so over jae-on his beauty means nothing compared to Do-hyeoks heart.

Aug 07 2021 6:05 pm Episode 7 was disheartening…Episode 8 downright disappointing and depressing As a fan of Park Jae Eon…(I don’t view him as superficial or frivolous) and Yoo Na Bi I find it difficult to watch. I don’t care for the chemistry between Yang Do Hyuk and NaBi…he’s sweet I guess but to me he’s very one dimensional and without much chemistry going on between the two of them it’s incredibly boring. Park Jae Eon is a much more layered and complex character. Not to mention how physically beautiful he is. It would be great if some of his fear of relationships could be fleshed out otherwise what are we left with? I am also sad about the fact that the writers felt they had to reduce the part of Nam Kyu Hyun (ridiculous) since he plays a great character opposite Oh Bit Na as well as an understanding friend of Park Jae Eon. So much more could have been done with these characters …. Please let them end up together otherwise it’s going to be worse than Love Alarm!

He's a great friend to Nabi but if he's a good man, after she turned her down, he could've given her the space and time she needs until she is confident to give love back to someone else. Confusing her more by forcing yourself into the equation is not the best decision. There are a lot of grey areas into Jae-eon's character but I hope they make sure to explain this in the last two episodes. We're not in fairytale, this is by far one of the most realistic drama I have seen. Its timely, exactly what we see in our generation.

He is an epitome of I will do what I want, I don't care about where you stand right now. I understand he is a great friend to Nabi but if he's a sincere man, he should give space and time for Nabi to heal and become confident to give back love when she can.
Aug 07 2021 11:53 am Speaking from someone who had been in Nabi's position, she's realistically portrays her character. It's hard to easily break through this cycle. Wanting someone, doing all you can to make it work if it means compromising and not seeing anybody else. All your focus is on that person and trying your hardest for that person to see all yoir sacrifices and efforts. Jae-eon might be toxic as clearly he doesn't explain himself to anyone. He lets everyone believe what they want. We all have our own skeleton in our closet which we don't speak openly about.

The first relationship ended in abusive sexual exploitation. I hope the writers/directors are planning on showing how she grows to be able to take control of her life. If this becomes a story of how Jae-eon is "transformed" to a good guy or secretly was always very feeling they reinforce a trope that has been and is toxic to women.

That part is confusing to me, because he does not like to be in a relationship. Its upsetting because right after intercourse with Nabi, Seaol-A calls and he gets up and leave Im not really understanding that part of the show.

She misses his presence, smells, the way he looks at her. It seems like she didn't see that spark, excitement and chemistry to her childhood friend do hyeok. Potato boy is so boring to watch in this series when he was with nabi, The difference between jae eun and potato boy is that nabi is very happy with jae eun while they are 2gether while she is with do hyeok she treat her like a friend.
Lastly, do yeok confessed to nabi' s friends when they are on the camp( doyeok house) it seems nabi was a bit embarrassed and not prepared for the reveleation. I hope to see in the next episode the true self of jae eun why he is afraid to commit and a playboy. Hopefully the endgame of this series will be nabi-jaeeun in the end.

I get mad at Nabi because she treats him kinda rough, but then she gives up the draws every opportunity she can, and what red-blooded girl wouldn't! The boy is fine!!! Do just doesn't have that spark to start a forest fire like Jae does! Never a dull moment with him! Whew! She's a lucky girl! Look, they're in their 20's, there's plenty enough time for sorting out toxic relationships, let them enjoy themselves! One thing, I don't ever see any condom wrappers on the nightstand, (Jae said he was going to try for 5 in Ep. 4, you go boy!) which would've sent a great message about safe sex. I hope she ends up with Jae somehow, but I think we'll get the boring ending with Nabi and Do. I know Asians are more conservative than Americans but this series is Hottt! ?

It’s an amazing story and I’m glad to see stuff like this in the world of kdrama! It really isn’t your normal korean series.
(but honestly they smoke a lot in this story and it even has a little meaning to it at one point but bc of the strict rules they can’t show the actors smoke on TV lol it makes me so mad sometimes)

I know lots of people are wondering why Nabi keeps going back to Jae-Eon when Do Hyeok is clearly a better choice but it honestly makes sense to me. Not everyone chooses the nice guy especially when there is undeniable chemistry between you and someone else. And to be honest, I think if Nabi just flat out started rejecting Jae-Eon and liking Do Hyeok that wouldn’t make sense and the story would start becoming a little unrealistic.
Also to those who are saying Jae-Eon hasn’t changed from the start, I want to add that changing quickly is not easy. From my point of view, Jae-Eon has actually had a lot of character development and is slowly starting to shift into a more sincere guy. The only reason he appears to not be changing is because he’s refusing to accept these changes in himself. He is trying not to waver over a single girl and stay the same player he was before even though he knows Nabi is special to him.
Sorry to rant, but I find this kdrama has a lot to unpack if you pay close attention. It’s especially interesting to read people’s reviews on it since it can be interpreted in many different ways.
Anyways yeah, I’m excited to see where this goes and how it finishes. Im praying the writers give the ending justice because this drama deserves it.

I prefer to binge watch but I can’t do it with this Drama, I click on each episode as soon as it’s released and then watch every episode again when the new episode is over. Maybe parents are not letting their teenagers watch it and they’re all round a friend’s house watching on 1 TV? so ratings are not being captured correctly? or maybe it’s Airing too late and they’ve already gone to bed? Shame though because it looks like we’ll only get 10 episodes ? I’m sure the Netflix ratings will be much better and these will grow over time as viewers find it as it really is Amazing and worth the watch.

Kudos to the director, all the sexual scenes turn into beautiful sensual scenes. The soundtracks, I dont have to mention! The details and color schema for hero and heroin.
Nabi color schema is green, so she always wear green and her house full of green items. Jae-eon color schema is purple and he also always wearing purple and his study table full of purple items as well.
How can I say? This drama is an art! If you like a cliche or maybe same genre of kdrama, that maybe it wont suits you. But if you are a sensitive, melancholy and soft hearted, then maybe this drama suits you.

What can be better than that?! Jae won doesn't need Nabi.... But he can learn to be a better man from learning about his own feelings through her. I'm on team Do Hyuk. If jaewon can become a stable relationship guy in 10 episodes.... It's just fantasy. Haha

I think the writers are doing that for the ratings but ooops it was counter-productive as ratings dipped since from 2.2 (1st ep) to 1.7 (4th ep), as per Nielsen Korea. That’s a no-brainer as this is one series that is so boring to watch in every aspect, that even good-looking lead stars wouldn’t make much of a difference in pulling up the ratings.

This Jae-eon is regreting whats hes done, reminicing and yet he still giging ladies at the bar!! lol (go figure) and i hope the writer doesnt give Jae-eon some sort of sad/depressed/abusive back story to why hes like this to give him a chance to draw the "pity card" on Na-bi...That would "P" me off even more!!!...will watch the only last episode Just to find which path she took!!

The cinematography is beautiful but when in almost every scene the camera simply holds on a characters face for 50 seconds while the ost plays, it begins to feel like filler. I like Na-Bi’s character but it’s always one step forward and 3 steps back with her. She knows what she wants but is too weak to stick to the standards and boundaries she sets for herself. That’s pretty relatable but I don’t think ‘relatable’ is what k-drama fans are necessarily looking for. Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying bits and pieces but the only character that gives me a true kdrama vibe is Do-Hyeok. Jae-On is not my favorite of Song Kang's characters because I always want to be rooting for him but I simply can’t with this one. He wants Na-Bi but doesn’t want her. He hangs around other girls and presumably sleeps with them but then mopes around when she’s not with him. It’s hard to root for a male lead that embodies everything a woman will despise in a man. It’s even harder to watch when he’s not that charming, just very toxic. I love Song Kang and I think he’s very handsome but the writing of his character strips him of his usual charms and makes his horrible character traits hard to forgive. I hope they don’t do Do-Hyeok dirty because if the one thing they decide to stick with in a traditional drama is throwing away the second lead, I’m gonna be upset because he’s working real hard for Nani’s heart, meanwhile Jae On just has to exist. I don’t like that. I will continue to support the writers, directors and actors of this drama and watch. I can only hope it surpasses my current expectations!

But damn the pace is like watching paint dry. I watch the whole episodes in 20 because I fast forward. So it's not the peoples fault they find the drama boring its the writing in the direction. I know alot of artists and if anyone spoke that slow I would get up and go. This is the writers or the directors fault by thinking the characters would seem deep and contemplative if they talk slow and that is just BS.

I think it would be better if they release 2 episode per week because by now it would have been over. The next episodes will just be the push and pull between the FL and ML. No actual plot. The viewership rating struggling to hit 2%, oh my. I hope Han So Hee gets a better role in her next project. Nabi is just so weak and dumb. And the writers suddenly giving Jae Eon a redemption arch is so cliche cause in reality people like him will never change. The only saving grace is the OST. I hope Nabi will come to her senses and work on herself before entering a relationship.

i like nabi w her childhood friend thts introduced, however it felt too instalove w him being super eager and saying hes nervous around her, the first day they see e other again after 10 yrs. im just not a personal fan of instalove stuff but his character is way more endearing than song kang's.

While Nabi and PJE have chemistry I hope she doesn't end with him, unless there's some serious evolution of JE's character. He's not a bad guy but Nabi is always anxious with their relationship, and being anxious within a relationship isn't fun and that isn't love.
Nabi should enjoy it for what it is and that is casual.
PJE probably does like Nabi but she shouldn't get int a relationship, especially after dealing with her last one, with a guy who is still trying to "deal" with his feelings. Plus, PJE has been clear with his intention from the start even though it probably isn't clear for Nabi.
PJE is very smooth and I can understand why Nabi fell for him. I would love for Nabi to fully embrace the fact that PJE is there for fun and that's it. The ending to her bday with him should explain it all. That girl was hungry lol. They had fun but in the end, he left her hungry lol.
Also, I think his mom is sick and maybe that's who he's going to at night but who knows. I love Nabi's strength but you see all of that drain away when PJE and yup, that can happen. And it sucks that jealous folk at her school is gossiping but that is a reality it seems.
Can't wait to see what happens.
P.S. I love that this drama is truly depicting what mostly happens in friends-with-benefits relationships. Fun, yet so dang confusing; someone always gets hurt whether they admit it not (¬‿¬)

First off, he's sooo handsome and second, he really knows how to make your heart flutter. They're so intimate and the chemistry is just perfect. Can't wait for the next episodes. Hopefully it doesn't leave us and Na-bi heartbroken in the end. Give Song Kang a happy ending for once.

I don’t really like how she’s not even a little hard to get, she just gives into him like every time. But She’s gorgeous, her acting is great and she has chemistry with the ML. Idk what’s up with Jae On. Looking past his set up as a player, there’s really no depth to his character besides ‘an artsy guy who like butterflies’. I want Jae On to change his ways for Na Bi but I don’t want Na Bi to ‘change him’ like so many women try too. The best character growth comes from those that change on their own through the story. Hopefully they stray from the Webtoon and not make them so distasteful and disturbing.

definitely keep watching and think about how the characters are behaving. ask yourself if you could do that to someone or have that done to you. ask yourself what you can learn from it. the source material is so good, I highly encourage people to read it. it makes you think about all sides and you are left emotionally wrecked.

no his character is toxic af and toys with her. the both of them do pretty awful things to each other later on and thankfully Na-bi gets the strength to move on from him but the ending was open ended.
We're left to wonder if they learned anything from their past relationship because in the end we see someone who looks like him from the back flirting with a girl and talking about butterflies while Na-bi overthinks her new relationship, thinking her new partner would hurt her like her previous one before.
The ending showed us that she is still insecure but she's working on it. What happens after is left up to us.

I still talk to the guy, once in a while, as a friend... but sometimes more than a friend but less than a friend. it's very confusing when a guy plays with your heart. You know it's toxic, yet it's hard to resist... i still skip a heartbeat when he flirts with me even though i clearly know that it ends there, in the flirting. I love Song Kang so much ❤

@Rosya Regarding the spoiler alert, could I add, after watching all three episodes and hearing the web toon ending I have come to the conclusion that since Na-bi is a butterfly she will find another flower and Jae-on the flower, will continue to want more and possibly will change after he loses the butterfly he really wants…but by then it is too late.

Jae eon is in position where he can making love but cannot fall in love while na bi cant help but fallen in love with him even if she's know that their relationship would always remain toxic. So maybe in the end it would be as same as grey and ana which jae eon would realize that na bi taught her how to fall in love and thats how he realizes that he also fall in love to her already.

It seems quite toxic at the moment and I feel like it's going to only get worse but I really have to commend the director for this because she really brings out the delicacy and kindness in their intimate scenes to make my heart flutter every week. :')

Jul 03 2021 3:02 pm I know a lot of people are saying that Jae eon isn’t good enough to end up with na bi and that they’re relationship is already toxic and will continue to get even more toxic and that she should end up with the other guy but I really would prefer if she was the reason for developing Jae eons character which would eventually lead them to end up together. I really hope they do it’s not because I like the actor,song kang, but more because I feel that it would be good and would also set an example or kind of let people know that people can change you just have to know how to change them for the better. The storyline depicts a female lead that gets drawn to a man that she knows she shouldn't love. Much to any realistic toxic relationship we've heard from real life, this drama brings a different vibe to the usual sweet romance or melodramas that we're all so sick of and this drama actually makes me want to watch more.
I feel that there's definitely more into this storyline and I can't wait for new episodes.
Definitely one of the better dramas I've watched so far in 2021.

I am impressed and I like the actress - nice to see her do something that isn't a long-suffering princess role.

The theme is pretty relatable. A playboy who just wants to play, and a naive girl who loves the player... She knows the red flags but her heart is uncontrollable. I am curious if the male lead has a back story of why he doesn't want to be in a relationship (is there any trauma in the past?), or if he's just a douchebag.
I think Song Kang is quite good. I watched When The Devil Calls Your Name, and I almost can't recognize him here.
Jun 27 2021 10:14 am Over this past year, with isolation, thus NetFlix binges, I have thoroughly enjoyed many of the Asian/European drama series, even with the subtitles! ? My very favourites have been Mr Sunshine and Anything with young Song Kang but definitely his ballet performance in Navillera !!! The latter carefully portrayed feelings shown to the aging gentleman was so heartwarming in this disposable age in which we survive. Both of these series I have enjoyed a number of times. Jun 27 2021 9:06 am People are saying Nabi is foolish for ignoring all the flags.. But doesn't it happen in reality? I think Nabi represents her character so well. Nabi is like a really sweet girl, hoping that the guy will change for her some day. Nabi is just like a typical girl falling in love, despite knowing that she shouln't be doing that but then we all tend to do things which are not good for us. For me, this drama is so realistic, although it might seem a bit slow sometimes. Really loving it so far.

They have strong chemistry more on sexual tension but sometimes the delivery of lines is lacking and awkward to watch. I hope there is improvement in upcoming episodes. I like the editing though its artistic.

Jun 26 2021 6:59 pm This kdrama is so unpredictable. And I mean that in the best way possible. It’s hard to find kdramas nowadays where you really have no clue what’s coming next so this is refreshing and I’m loving it so far.
Not to mention, the chemistry between them is undeniable. It feels so real and the story does too. It’s something that’s definitely relatable especially when it comes to doing something that you know isn’t gonna be good for you (but idk yet since this show is ongoing but I hope it ends well). Anyways, can’t wait to see where this goes, literally counting down the days until the next episode.

And i also understand some people here said that the drama is close to reality. I know han so hee is pretty but she looks so beautiful with close up & almost look like bare faced. At the end of the day, this is what reality looks like nowadays so having a kdrama represent it feels rather refreshing. The dialogue and story feels mature and realistic in my opinion, plus I’m super tired of watching 20-30 year olds act like children head over heels in love in kdramas so this is super refreshing!

I think the casting is pretty spot on as Song Kang has that boyish charm. Plus his character is supposed to be younger than So Hee’s. Of course you’re allowed to feel that he isn’t handsome enough. Also, this is not supposed to be like that Woo Do Hwan drama. That one was based off of cruel intentions and they’re very different.

He has so much good potential ahead of him, hope he is recognized by casters and writers. Overall I’m enjoying this drama and thank the staff and cast for their hard work.

Don't attack me, I'm just saying what I've observed. Yeah, sure the leads are good looking but they should portray the emotions or feelings of their characters more so even though I didn't experience getting played by a guy, I can at least feel the pain of what it's like to be cheated on. The FL moved on so fast just because he saw someone who is handsome but also a playboy.

She just broke up with her toxic boyfriend and move on that fast, there were lots of red flags I could see in the guy and if I were her, I won't get too close. But I guess since he's handsome, the girl went insane ?

Didn’t watch season 2 of love alarm due to the ending so I’m really hoping they don’t leave Song Kangaroo hanging on this one!
