Product Information

Take it back to the late 80s with the Nintendo Game Boy. Adults and children love playing a variety of games on this system that can be taken almost anywhere. The hand-held Game Boy is perfect for playing in vehicles, on lunch breaks, or out in the backyard with friends. This system features a directional pad, as well as four operation buttons for in-game use. An external power supply jack allows users to plug the game into an AC power adapter. When users are away from a power source, the game runs on four AA batteries. A port lets players connect two Game Boys to one another, or the port can be used to connect the game to a Game Boy printer.

  First-Ever Game Boy Worth the Purchase and Experience of Playing It

  We still have our original game boy and several games that have been stored nicely in tiny plastic cases. Since it’s in bad shape, I wanted to get another one. Fortunately for us, they refurbish them. When it first premiered in the nineties, we had a great time playing with it. Compared to today, the graphics are old school on a black and white screen, but despite that, it’s no different than playing on a cellphone screen today except today’s is more colorful and defined. But playing them on a black and white makes it extra challenging. The sound is very good, and the games are still fun today and even more challenging than I’ve played on my cellphone. This year I gave my new refurbished one as a “fun” gift to my son and we’ve been playing Home Alone, Escape to New York, a game I finished and beat years ago. But now It is so hard, but still just as fun to play with. This original gameboy is a little and fun game system to play, and the games are worth it. Plus, there are so many different ones. Fortunately I kept all of them and they are still very playable. For example, we have the Home Alone-New York one, wheel of fortune game, Simpson’s, Nigel Mansell which is a car racing one, and kirby’s Dreamland to mention a few. If you are a fan of different game systems, I suggest you try this original game boy and enjoy the challenge of playing very fun but challenging games on it. It’s well worth it.

  The screen and colors look awesome. The problem are the buttons. I have to push hard on everything in order for it to function. The A and B buttons and also the directional button. Even the select and start buttons too. They don't feel like the buttons on my regular original gameboy I have. My thumbs are tired after only a couple games of tetris. Don't think I can play this for hours. Too bad because the screen looks Great.

  Still fun to play.

  The Nintendo Gameboy was by no means an example of the most powerful handheld even during its prime in the early 90s. Its competitors had front-lit or back-lit screens and were in color. What the Gameboy did, however, was provide great games. It's still surprising to me that I can get so engaged in a game like Link's Awakening or Pokemon Red while playing them on a grey brick with a reflective screen that has 4 shades of green. The Gameboy is still fun to play in 2018, the age of backlights, pocket computers, and HD gaming with photo-realistic graphics.

  Great Vintage Handheld Gameboy!!

  My old original GameBoy Hand Held gave out on me. So I bought another one recently and it really brings back memories of the late 1990's with Tetris, and other games all before cell phone games which has these annoying ads. I absolutely love continuously playing the games and you can use a headphone because it has a 1/4" jack for that. There is nothing else I can say but go out and get yourself one and enjoy the games. If you don't have any games, you can buy them on eBay. There are hundreds of selections!!

  Game Boy Redux

  This is the original, portable, game console, that in some ways is great granddaddy to the present day smartphone. The display is rudimentary and crude by today’s standards, yet somehow it’s still fun to play. The player is well made, sturdy, with nice controls. For under $75 you can own a piece of history, hone your reflexes, and don’t forget, enjoy the Tetris music forevermore!

  This game boy is great! It works well though it does have some screen issues. I have done some modifications to it and I will be installing an IPS screen in it.   Very nice restoration project

  The Gameboy arrived even earlier than expected, and included a free link cable, which is a very nice touch. The while thing was in great condition, apart from some grime on the screen, which was cleanable in a few minuets. There was no corrosion whatsoever, and it turned out to be easy to clean and restore.
