Oct 9, 1999 72,636 48 91 So I have one of those Glade plug-in thingamabobs in my room. They normally last about a month ago and they smell pretty good. Well, I was in Food Lion shopping for groceries last week and stopped by the air freshener aisle. They had the "real" Glade plug-in refills for about $3.29. They had the Food Lion brand for I think $1.79. I hopped on that deal and bought four of the generics. Well, tonight my "real" glade plug-in ran out so I opened up the Food Lion "Fresh Linen" and hooked it up. 10 minutes later and I keep saying to myself, "WTF is that smell?" "WTF is that?" Damn thing smells like scented BABY DIAPERS/BABY WIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:|:|:| Ika

i have learned that cheap air fresheners are worse than no air fresheners at all. I am very selective about the ones I buy and know better than to buy the cheap, crappy smelling ones. DrPizza

Mar 5, 2001 49,601 167 111 www.slatebrookfarm.com Someone gave my wife a vanilla scented plug in warmer thing that smells exactly like vanilla cake. Sweet smell in the air when it's turned on. Since Christmas, I've looked in the oven no less than a dozen times, expecting to see a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting (honestly!) (We keep cake and other large food items that don't need to be in the fridge in our oven - it's the most cat and dog proof place in the house.) Deeko

yes they are if they are left without the oil... when they are empty and still plugged in, they are very hazardous. Ika

Jan 4, 2001 41,596 20 81 My roommate last semester got some Ocean Breeze scent Febreeze (think it was Ocean Breeze anyway) and sprayed that around the apartment to cover up the stink. After the stuff dissipated, it smelled like a lightly used diaper. I discovered shortly after moving in that the stink that was being covered up was the result of no one calling maintenance to fix the leaking toilet (linoleum was starting to curl and mold was growing) or the leak under the kitchen sink (swollen, moldy particle board). Apparently, no one ever noticed this in how many months, depsite the fact that the toilet paper stored on the floor mysteriously got wet before it was ever used, or that anything stored under the kitchen sink was always damp. Jul 21, 2004 865 0 0 I sincerely think that any air freshener is way worse than no air freshener. But then... I really can't stand artificial smells. eww.... I have to fight with all of my girlfriends about giving up the perfume ;-) You must log in or register to reply here. Share: Facebook X (Twitter) Reddit Tumblr WhatsApp Email Share Link
