Range Music Deal

After leaving TaP Management in early 2025, Cyrus signed a new agreement with Range Music in March of the same year. She stated that she was excited to work with Matt Graham, the head of Range Music, due to his extensive knowledge of country and Americana music, as well as his experience in other genres. The deal is for management services only and doesn’t include the publishing or recording rights to her music.

Range Music represents a broad spectrum of artists, including Rita Ora, Saweetie, and Midland. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed; however, the industry standard is that management typically takes 15-20% of an artist’s gross earnings.

Lawsuit

In August 2016, at just 16 years old, Cyrus was sued after allegedly rear-ending another vehicle on the 101 freeway in LA while she was texting. The driver, EJ Hawkins, claimed that Cyrus had been distracted at the time of the crash, which caused him to be admitted to the hospital. Hawkins stated that the injuries went beyond physical pain and that the accident had impacted his quality of life.

Cyrus’s mother, Tish Cyrus, was also named in the lawsuit, as she owned the Jeep and had been a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident. It was alleged that she had been negligent in allowing her teenage daughter to drive the Jeep. Hawkins sought compensation for the damage, though it appears the lawsuit was settled outside of court, as the outcome was never made public.

Personal Life

Cyrus also found herself at the centre of a family rift, possibly due to her close bond with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. The split in the family began in April 2022, when Cyrus’s parents, Billy Ray and Tish, divorced after 30 years of marriage.

Cyrus and her siblings reportedly started to take sides, which escalated in August 2022 when Billy Ray became engaged to Australian singer Firerose. Around that time, Billy Ray and his daughter Miley Cyrus allegedly unfollowed each other on social media. At the same time, Cyrus stayed at Billy Ray’s Nashville home as she recovered from an addiction to Xanax.

In early 2023, the rift deepened further when details emerged about the relationship between Tish Cyrus and Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell. According to reports, Tish knew that Cyrus and Purcell had previously been an item, yet Tish went ahead with the relationship and eventually married him later that year.
