Nonfiction Text Structures #3: Description
Nonfiction writers use the description text structure to explain a topic, idea, person, place, or thing by listing characteristics and examples. In this worksheet, children will learn to identify signal words and visuals that writers use when using description. They will then read a short passage and complete a graphic organizer that describes details from the passage. Designed for fourth graders, this worksheet offers useful practice to prepare children as they learn to read and write nonfiction.
This worksheet is a companion to Nonfiction Text Structures #1: Compare and Contrast and Nonfiction Text Structures #2: Cause and Effect.
