Many believe that King Charles III, the upcoming monarch, will receive the Kohinoor-studded crown. According to the Kohinoor's ascension history, the diamond will instead go to the following Queen, who in this instance is Camilla Parker Bowles, the Queen Consort.

Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning queen in British history, passed away on Thursday at the age of 96, concluding her seven-decade reign. The magnificent crown set with Kohinoor diamonds will now be given to the next in line.The question now is, Who will wear the Kohinoor now?Many believe that King Charles III, the upcoming monarch, will receive the Kohinoor-studded crown. According to the Kohinoor's ascension history, the diamond will instead go to the following Queen, who in this instance is Camilla Parker Bowles, the Queen Consort.The platinum crown that Queen Elizabeth II wore while she was the monarch of England today bears the Kohinoor diamond.Camilla Parker Bowles will serve as the Queen Consort when Charles takes the throne in England, the Queen announced in February of this year. Now that the Queen has passed away, Camilla will probably be donning the Kohinoor.The Kohinoor, which is frequently referred to be the world's most valuable diamond, measures about 105.6 carats. The diamond was discovered in 14th-century India. According to the diamond's history, it was discovered near Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, during the Kaaktiya Dynasty's rule.Malik Kafoor (Alauddin Khilji's General) looted it after it had served as one of the deity's eyes in a Hindu temple at Warangal. After being handed down to numerous Mughal Empire emperors, Sikh Maharaja Ranjit Singh acquired it in Lahore, from where he later travelled to Punjab.Following the acquisition of Punjab under Maharaja Ranjit Singh's son Dileep Singh's rule, the diamond was delivered to Queen Victoria in 1849.The public can view the Kohinoor diamond, which is currently mounted in the Queen's crown and kept in the Tower of London's Jewel House.
