NEW YORK STATE INSPECTIONS IN QUEENS, BROOKLYN AND LONG ISLAND

NYS INSPECTION

M-Spec Performance performs New York state inspection for all vehicles. The state requires this service every year in order to comply with requirements for safety and emissions. In order to successfully pass state inspection, we thoroughly check many key items on your vehicle. Below are some of the items that are checked during this process:

• Tires
• Windows
• Exhaust
• Brakes
• Steering
• Emissions

Emissions are tested by digitally reading the vehicles engine diagnostics and drivetrain computer for fault codes. This inspection is required! If a vehicle fails testing, these issues would have to be repaired before performing another test. Vehicles that do not pass NYS inspection will not be able to renew registration. It is important to have all of these issues resolved before the next inspection to ensure driver safety and state required law. Vehicles with a check engine light will not pass inspection.

How Much Does A NYS Inspection Cost?

For cars that are newer than 1996, the price of an inspection sticker will be $37. Cars that are model years 1995 or older only require a vehicle safety inspection and no emissions which costs $10.
