My USPS application profile went from Pre-Hire list to Offer Phase EXT. Stayed on Offer Phase EXT for almost 2 weeks. Never received any job offer letter in my email, so I was getting kind of nervous. Only thing I received was MV background check. After about 2 weeks, and still no job offer email, my profile switched back to Pre-Hire list. Has anyone had this happen? What was your experience? I read "offer phase EXT" means you got the job in a lot of places, but a few said "not necessarily". Now I've switched back to pre-hire list, so I'm not sure what to think. R

The “Fast track” method of hiring created by some highly paid postal executive/s is absolutely garbage. It has slowed hiring down and sometimes takes months to get hired because of it. It is the main reason we are so sort on Rca’s, many like you give up and look elsewhere for a that you hire on in 2 weeks. DB.Cooper

Sad part is, many go thru the LONG hassle and runaround of getting thru the process, then after a short period of seeing what it is from the inside, tell the USPS, take this POS job, and shove it.... 🤷‍♂️(n)😳 Sandygirl

Yeah this is what I ended up doing. Actually went in for a sit-down with the PM, and to fill out some preliminary paperwork. PM seemed nice and said to just be patient as HR handles everything and can be bogged down at times. As an update for anyone else who may need this info later, I received my job offer email today. My profile switched back to OFFER PHASE EXT. Will be doing fingerprinting and background check next. Pretty much a done deal at this point. Deer Smearer

giving them to much credit DB. We all know switches and lever require manual work it has to be just plain buttons. Anything more then a button is to hard to use. Deer Smearer

This is an example of the pitfalls of a centralized government. For some reason USPS can't figure out that decentralizing the hiring process would be far more efficient. A person should be able to walk into any reasonably sized office, ask for an application, go home and fill it out, turn it back in to that office. Sandygirl

Please let us know the total time it takes you to finally get to your “Shadow” day, your first day of pay. This Rca process is the most ridiculous method of hiring. It should not take more than 2 weeks and that is the biggest reason many of our candidates find other work instead of waiting for inept managers to finally do their jobs. W

I got the NACI background check email and completed and turned that in. Also went and got fingerprinting done. PM said she'd let me know when to show up for orientation, and that would be the next step. I imagine my background check has to go through first. Then vehicle driving test/training, then wait for a start date for the postal academy. Earning pay starts the day you show up for orientation. E

I went through the entire process, I applied took assessment scored 99% Received a Job Offer, (Accepted the position) Went in for Fingerprints & Background Check, (everything came back, & was Cleared) Invited to attend Orientation (Arrived Late, wasn't going to make it death in my immediate family) Was told they'd move my orientation Date (Training Department) my name & Phone number was left for someone to return my call. Then without any questions, or even a follow up phone call. the following day was told my Orientation couldn't be rescheduled, and I would need to re-apply. I drove all the way there arriving 20 min late, but I had a valid reason. Why couldn't my Orientation be rescheduled, I've read online many prior employees getting rescheduled. C

Just a suggestion for you. Either use an app or just take a calendar and write in every day worked or training and how many hours. First, you will be in multiple locations and multiple time cards will be used to track your hours, mistakes happen. By keeping your own record you can make sure you're paid properly. Second, it seems like every other week an RCA comes here asking how they'll know when they're done with the probationary period. Your local Mgmt. does not track this, in fact very, very few managers will do a 30, 60, or 90 day review with you. So you track it yourself. The probationary period is 90 days worked or 1 calendar year whatever comes first and every day counts towards that. That includes orientation, vehicle training, academy and any training, even if it's only a couple of hours it counts as a day. Best of luck to you. TuckersDad

That's what I'm doing. Just finished my 3rd day of training, shadowing tomorrow before academy next week. I made out a numbered sheet to write dates on and i put it so that I see it everytime I come in the door.
