Introduction
Offset is an American professional rapper, singer, and songwriter with an estimated net worth of $28 Million.
Migos Earnings History
For two consecutive years, between 2018 and 2019, Forbes ranked Migos among the highest-paid music groups, primarily due to the Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour. The tour, featuring fellow rapper Drake, took place between August and November 2018, grossing over $103.1 million across 54 shows. The tour contributed significantly to the group’s overall earnings during this period, alongside their additional income from concerts, music sales, and streaming royalties.
Between September 2017 and September 2018, the Migos earned an estimated $25 million from all their endeavors. This figure increased to $36 million for the following year, earning them a combined $61 million within a two-year period. Assuming a three-way split, each member would have earned just over $20 million during this period.
Music Career
Offset knew early on that he wanted to be a musician. At age 11, he appeared as a backup dancer with Whitney Houston in 2002. Growing up in the suburbs of Gwinnett County, Georgia, Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff formed the hip-hop group Migos in 2008.
It took the trio a while to find their unique sound, but by 2013, they’d become better known, releasing their single, “Versace.” As the group gained experience and confidence, their sound improved, and they released a studio Album in 2015.
Australian producer Yifei Hechen assisted Migos with their debut studio album, “Young Rich Nation,” causing a stir on the local hip-hop scene.
Hitting #1 on Billboard Hot 100
But it wasn’t until 2017, when their breakthrough single, “Bad and Boujee,” was released, that Offset and his friends went viral on the internet. They were unprepared for this mainstream fame, with the song hitting the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This was followed later in the year with their second studio album, “Culture,” which debuted at the #1 spot on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Solo Career and Collaborations (2017-2020)
The Migos’ incredible success was nine years in the making, proving that the group had the mindset and work ethic to achieve great things together. However, Offset still had time to release various solo songs and collaborate with a variety of top artists, such as Drake and Macklemore.
Offset featured on Metro Boomin’s single, “No Complaints” alongside Drake in 2017 and joined Macklemore on his song, “Willy Wonka” from the album “Gemini.” He and rapper 21 Savage collaborated on another studio album, “Without Warning,” working with producer Metro Boomin and released by Republic Records and UMG.
In 2018, he scored his first Top-Ten single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with his featured performance on Tyga’s song, “Taste.” Offset released his debut solo studio album in 2019 with his soon-to-be partner, Cardi B, “Father of 4,” featuring their single “Clout”.
Highs and Lows in 2021 and 2022
After releasing the Migos’ album “Culture III” in June 2021, Offset featured on the Fast & Furious 9 soundtrack with his song “Hit Em Hard.”
Offset’s career had taken off, and his financial position was secured, a long way from his earlier life of crime and incarceration. But, a year later, rumors began circulating that the Migos were disbanding after it was revealed that Offset and Cardi B unfollowed Quavo and Takeoff.
There was also talk of Offset’s infidelity with Quavo’s ex-girlfriend, which fanned the flames of the group’s demise and ongoing conflict. Quavo and Takeoff announced in May 2022 that they were starting a new duo project, Unc And Phew, which they didn’t discuss with Offset.
However, tragedy struck on November 1, 2022, when Offset’s cousin and groupmate, Takeoff, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas.
Following the funeral, Quavo posted a music video in February 2023 for his song “Greatness,” a dedication to Takeoff and his life. There was no official notice of the group splitting, and in June 2023, Quavo and Offset performed a tribute to Takeoff at the BET Awards.
Real Estate
In December 2019, Offset and Cardi B gifted each other a 22,000-square-foot, five-bedroom Sandy Springs mansion in Atlanta, Georgia, for Christmas. According to public records, the property was initially listed for $5.795 million, but the couple paid $5.5 million. The house is currently worth an estimated $6.43 million.
