The Personal Diabetes Manager has a built-in FreeStyle® Lite blood glucose meter (BGM).
Toggle expanded contentYou can use the built-in FreeStyle® Lite blood glucose meter (BGM) to check your blood glucose levels as often as needed.
The information from your Personal Diabetes Manager can be uploaded directly to Glooko®, our comprehensive data management software partner.
Toggle expanded contentAccessible both online and in many clinics across Canada, Glooko® stores your glucose levels, insulin, and carb data, as well as information from your blood glucose meter (BGM), continuous glucose monitor (CGM), and fitness tracker. Glooko’s® clear reports and charts give you the information you and your HCP (healthcare provider) need to make better insulin therapy decisions.
The Pod
The Pod is a small device that you fill with insulin and wear directly on your body.
Toggle expanded contentThe Pod receives insulin delivery instructions from the PDM. It then delivers insulin into your body through a small, flexible tube called a cannula. The Pod is durable and waterproof* and is applied to your skin with an adhesive, similar to an adhesive bandage. It can be put anywhere on your body you’d normally give yourself an injection for up to 3 days or 72 hours of nonstop insulin delivery.
*The Pod has a waterproof IP28 rating for up to 7.6 metres (25 feet) for 60 minutes. This means that the Pod can be kept at a depth of 7.6 meters (25 feet) underwater for 60 minutes. The PDM is not waterproof. The Pod includes a small, flexible cannula that inserts automatically with the push of a button.
Toggle expanded contentThe Pod delivers precise, personalized doses of insulin into your body based on the set and variable rates that you program into a handheld Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM).
The Pod communicates wirelessly with the Personal Diabetes Manager to program insulin delivery.
Toggle expanded contentUnlike traditional insulin pumps that require tubing, the Pod can be worn comfortably and discreetly under your clothes while carrying the PDM separately in a backpack or purse.‡ Unlike users of other insulin pumps, you’ll never have to worry about snagging, tangling, or feeling tethered by tubing.
‡At start-up, the Pod and Personal Diabetes Manager must be adjacent. During normal operation, the Personal Diabetes Manager must be within 1.5 meters (5 feet) of the Pod for bolus delivery.
‡ The Pod Experience Kit includes a non-functioning, needle-free Pod which allows you to experience how it feels to wear a Pod. The demo Pod is for demonstrative purposes only and is not able to deliver insulin. The Pod Experience Kit does not include the physical Personal Diabetes Manager. Get the Pod Experience
Take the Pod for a spin by ordering a Pod Experience Kit (PEK)‡, which comes with a real-size, real-weight Demo Pod to give you an idea of what wearing a Pod feels like. The Demo Pod is a needle-free, non-functioning Pod and will not deliver insulin.
