  2. Rock SoundMay 17, 2017 60 Sure, the relative absence of co-frontman Mike Shinoda saps some of the band’s unique character and they get bogged down in sluggish, downcast dirges in the final stretch, but there’s also a sense of liberation running through these 10 tracks; the mark of artists unshackled from their past, stepping into the unknown.

  4. AllMusicMay 18, 2017 50 The issue isn't that it's a pop effort; indeed, they get points for a brave attempt so outside of their wheelhouse. The problem is that much of One More Light is devoid of that visceral charge that previously defined much of their catalog. It's a provocative challenge that ultimately fails to satisfy.

This album is absolutely an Amazing one, way better music than most of the trending music these days. Its all about change and evolution of music. And that doesn't mean Linkin Park cannot make what they have made before, its just that they follow change & innovation, these guys could've continued in their old style but the truth is that they've risked their career for their Fans & the Music heads to feed them something different than before every-time they show up. These guys don't care about the number of albums they gonna sold. They don't release 3 albums a year. They're not mean. They love Change, and that's what Linkin Park is all about. Expand

  3. AbbySkywalker May 24, 2017 9 This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you're a Linkin Park fan, yes! It gives you more insight into what mostly Mike and Chester are going through. Tracks like Talking to myself, Sorry for now, Invisible are really personal, though I would like if they would have more lyrics. I really like Chester's performance on Heavy. It's nice to see him weak for a change. If he can be brave enough to do it, so can I. And the first verse feels like they read my mind and know how I feel right now. Expand

Every LP album had some reason for me to buy it, this one at least just doesn't, it barely has anything that is satisfying and catchy to me, though i can understand why people like this record, it just doesn't hit the right spot for me. And i have to say that is really a shame that LinkinI've waited until the release to analyse and judge the album with a neutral look on it. And i have to say that is really a shame that Linkin Park decided to tarnish their discography with such a weak album. You can't even notice any trace of real instruments being played on the record. Mike and Chester dominated the production of the album and led the group toward a complete pop direction. With electronic beats taking over the guitarist space, short lenghted songs and even multiple featured guests, Linkin Park clearly shows their intentions with a Radio friendly album that was made to sell-out. The only radical change made by the band was to give a middle finger to their oldshool fans that made them successful in the first place. They didn't wanted another Hybrid Theory like the group likes to insist. They wanted an original album with a Heavy sound that only them could make. You would think that they were walking toward the right direction with the release of The Hunting Party, but in reality all they wanted to be mainstream like everybody else. Mike Shinoda says that the Band likes to innovate and experiment new things each album, but this argument totally backfires when you listen to this album. This is not new, this is not original and this sure doesn't seems like innovation to me. Pop nowdays always sounds the same and One More Light is no different. Linkin Park has betrayed their own roots and fan base with the Band's weakest album yet. Expand
