One Of Us Is Lying: Viewers Have Same Complaint On Netflix Drama

Netflix is back with another huge mystery drama to sink your teeth into. Enter: One Of Us Is Lying. The streaming platform's latest series follows five high school students who are in detention together when one member of the group suffers an anaphylactic shock and ultimately dies.

Currently in Netflix's UK Top 10, the show has had fans *talking* over the weekend. However, it turns out many viewers have the same complaint about the new series.

The TV version of One Of Us Is Lying is an adaptation of author Karen M. McManus' young adult mystery novel of the same name.

The series then delves into discovering who is responsible for Simon's death, with each of the characters in detention having their own opportunity and motive to want him dead.

Still, despite the show's popularity on the streaming platform, those who were fans of McManus' original novel have come out to complain that the TV adaptation doesn't quite live up to their expectations.

One viewer tweeted, "Some books are really great as books in their own right, they don’t NEED screen adaptations because it can’t be done well, as One Of Us Is Lying has clearly proven 😭😭".

Meanwhile, another added, "Clearly it's the people who haven't read the book saying One Of Us Is Lying Netflix adaptation is really good," while a third commented, "It’s just nothing like the book."

A fourth tweeted that the series is "nowhere near as good as the book but a pretty decent watch."

Still, while fans of the book appear to be underwhelmed by the series, others are firmly enjoying the Netflix show.

One fan tweeted, "I just finished watching One Of Us Is Lying, it was so good 😍👍🏻," while another added, "Omg I’m obsessed with One Of Us Is Lying on Netflix."

Either way, it seems like opinions are strong on this one.
