One Piece Drops Major Clue To Series' Final Destination - Screen Rant

Warning: contains spoilers for Road to Laugh Tale vol. 1!

Volume 1 of the "Road to Laugh Tale" One Piece special contains a major clue as to the finale of the beloved manga series. While providing an in-depth explanation of the final island of the Grand Line, Laugh Tale, and how to reach it, the special also provides a list of potential places where the last of the Road Poneglyphs may be hidden. Considering that finding that stone will be the last step to discovering the location of Laugh Tale, the Straw Hat Pirates will likely visit one of these places soon, before embarking on the very last part of their journey.

One Piece's creator Eiichiro Oda recently announced that the series would go on a one-month hiatus to give him time to prepare for what will be the final part of his amazing story. During the pause, Weekly Shonen Jump will publish a special called Road to Laugh Tale, which will dig deep into One Piece's story, addressing many of the issues and mysteries of the series. The first volume of the special includes a recap of Gol D. Roger's story, more information on the Rocks Pirates, and finally a section called "The Way to Laugh Tale," presenting all the information known on how to reach the island called Laugh Tale, the hiding place of the mythical One Piece treasure.

Laugh Tale is not easy to find: one must collect the four Road (sometimes spelled as "Lode") Poneglyphs, four stone steles that, if put together, disclose the exact location of Laugh Tale. The only people in history to do that were Gol D. Roger and his pirate crew, thanks to the help of Kozuki Oden, who could read and translate the carvings on the steles. Currently, the location of three Road Poneglyphs is known (and the Straw Hats should have gathered all three), while the fourth is hidden somewhere in the world. "The Way to Laugh Tale" teases One Piece fans with three possible locations that the Straw Hats have not visited yet, and that could hide this final piece of the puzzle: Elbaf, the land of the giants; Vira, a war-torn country liberated by the Revolutionary Army; and Hachinose, the base of the Blackbeard Pirates.

One Piece finale clues

All three of these destinations make sense and could be the next stop in the Straw Hats' voyage. Luffy and his crew wanted to visit Elbaf for a very long time, since they met the two giants Dori and Brogi on Little Garden. Also, Elbaf is currently under the protection of Shanks, one of the Yonko and the man who gave Luffy his straw hat. Vira is a seemingly irrelevant location that was only named a couple of times, but the connection with the Revolutionary Army could be really important. The leader of the Revolutionaries, Dragon, is Luffy's father, and his sworn brother Sabo, who may have been recently killed, is one of their commanders. Finally, Blackbeard has been teased as the final antagonist in the series. He acts as a dark mirror to Luffy, having his same goal to become the Pirate King but with a cruel and ruthless approach. If Blackbeard has the final Road Poneglyphs, then his crew and the Straw Hats will likely fight in one epic battle to determine who will go to Laugh Tale and find the One Piece.

Of course, hints and guarantees, and the Road Poneglyph may actually be somewhere else entirely, but all three locations would fit perfectly with the series' finale. One Piece fans got more questions than answers from the first volume of the Road to Laugh Tale special, which will make them go crazy with theories and speculation. Any one of the locations listed would be an amazing stage for the Straw Hats' journey, but to find out where the final Road Poneglyph actually is, One Piece fans can only be patient and wait for the next part of this epic saga.
