With OneNote, you can create as many notebooks, so you ensure that you won't miss a thing. As a note to rename the book, we show you in this practical tip.

To rename a notebook in OneNote

So that no error happen during the sync, you must close the note book in front of the Rename first. To do this, click the top left of the bar on your note books and you close the notebook with the right mouse button on the "notebook close". Then proceed as follows:
  1. You need to rename the notebook directly in the source in which you saved it.
  2. You have saved the notebooks locally on your computer, you can find them in the default directory "C:\Users\BENUTZERNAME\Documents\OneNote-Notizbücher". To Rename, just click with the right mouse button on the desired notebook, and then click "Rename". Enter the new title and confirm with [Enter].
  3. You save your notebooks on OneDrive online, the process is similar. Go to your OneDrive account and you are looking for the notebook in your Online storage, which you want to rename. Then click with the right mouse button on the notebook and select "rename".
  4. After you have entered the new name, it will be synchronized with OneNote automatically.
