When Do Big Bear Ski Resorts Open?

Lift Tickets Now Available

Lift tickets are required for all ski-able terrain and can be purchased on-line or as a walk-ups. Buy online to save — lift ticket prices are lower when purchased in advance compared to walk-up window rates. See price differences here.

Ticket Types:

• BBMR Day Ticket – Valid at Snow Summit, Bear Mountain, and Snow Valley (same day use)
• Snow Valley Only Ticket – Access to Snow Valley only
• Night Session Ticket – Valid from 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM at Snow Valley and Snow Summit (starts Dec 13)

Lift Ticket Hours:

• Weekdays: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Weekends: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Night Skiing: 3:00 PM – 8:30 PM (select nights only)

Important Tips Before You Go

Planning ahead can make your ski day smoother, safer, and more enjoyable. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a returning guest, be sure to keep the following tips in mind before heading up to Big Bear.

• All guests must have a valid lift ticket to access any ski or snowboard terrain
• Lift tickets are not included with equipment rentals or tubing sessions
• Night sessions begin December 13 at Snow Summit and Snow Valley
• Always check road and chain requirements before driving to the resort
• Arrive early to secure parking, especially on weekends and holidays

• Dress in layers and waterproof outerwear for comfort throughout the day
• Stay updated with the official mountain report for lift status and trail conditions

Travel Smart this Winter

Highway 38 to Big Bear Lake is closed due to storm damage and a major mudslide back in September, with no estimated reopening date.

 

Travelers should use alternate routes such as Highway 18 through Lucerne Valley or Highway 330 through Running Springs and plan for extra travel time due to increased congestion.
