Stella Carlin (played by Ruby Rose) made quite the impact when she entered Litchfield Penitentiary for the first time. The character made her debut on Orange Is the New Black in season three and quickly struck up a bond with series lead Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling). However, things quickly turned sour for the two and Stella and Rose weren’t seen again on the Netflix series after season four.

What happened to Stella on OITNB?

Stella’s time on OITNB ended with her serving time locked up in maximum security jail.

It all began for her when entered Litchfield and began sewing lingerie as an extra-curricular activity alongside Piper.

Soon, the pair started their own illegal business where they would wear the underwear and sell them to customers online.

Their relationship turned from professional to personal and Piper and Stella had an affair while the former was with Alex (Laura Prepon).

However, Stella’s desire for Piper was far outweighed by her desire for her share of the money they made from the business.

Stella robbed the money from Piper when she discovered she’s soon to be released.

Piper became aware of Stella’s plan and, just days before her release, planted contraband in her bunk, including a screwdriver which belonged to Boo (Lea DeLaria).

After tipping the officer off, Piper watched as Stella was reprimanded and shipped to maximum security prison.

Stella’s briefly seen again in season four when Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) joins her in max.

However, when Nicky finds out Stella is using drugs again, she wants nothing to do with her and this is the last time we see her.

Where is Ruby Rose now?

Before landing the role on OITNB, it’s fair to say Rose was a relative unknown.

Besides bit-parts in Syfy series Dark Matter 2013 drama movie Around the Block, the Netflix series was by far her biggest part.

As such, it gained Rose international attention and the job offers have been coming thick and fast ever since.

Upon leaving OITNB, Rose was cast in major roles in a number of Hollywood action thrillers.

She appeared opposite Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage and alongside Milla Jovovich in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Soon after that, she was facing off with Keanu Reeve in John Wick: Chapter 2 showing off her vocal talents in Pitch Perfect 3.

Nowadays, however, Rose is arguably enjoying her biggest role to date.

Rose has taken on the role of Batwoman in a number of DC TV series.

The 33-year-old has appeared in The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and DC’S Legends of Tomorrow as the character.

Batwoman even has her own series on The CW which Rose leads.
