Ingredient for this recipe
You need these ingredients to make this Cookie and cream milkshake:
- Vanilla ice cream: Do not substitute ice cubes for the ice cream as you will lose the creamy texture and the vanilla flavor of the milkshake. You can use chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla ice cream.
- Oreo cookies: You can easily replace the Oreo cookies with other cookies like speculoos, cookies etc.
- Milk: essential in this drink, use half-skimmed milk instead of whole milk, you can also use almond milk or another vegetable milk neutral in taste.

Best milkshake Toppings
Here are some ideas to make your cookies and cream milkshake even more delicious:
- Classic Style: Serve it in a tall glass with a straw, topped with whipped cream and a whole Oreo cookie for garnish.
- Oreo Milkshake Float: Add a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream to the milkshake for an extra indulgent float.
- Chocolate sauce: Pour additional chocolate sauce or chocolate syrup on the inside of the glass for a nice effect or add chocolate sauce on top of whipped cream.
- Caramel sauce: Serve with salted butter caramel coulis following my French salted butter caramel sauce.
- Oreo Milkshake Bar: Set up a bar with various toppings like chocolate syrup, colorful sprinkles, and different types of crushed cookies for a fun DIY dessert experience.
- Mini Milkshake Shots: Serve small portions in shot glasses for a cute, party-friendly option.

Tips for this recipe
- Choosing the Right Ingredients: Use full-fat liquid cream with 30-35% fat content and Kinder Maxi bars to achieve a rich and creamy ganache.
- Use Quality Ice Cream: Opt for a high-quality vanilla or chocolate ice cream for a richer taste and creamier texture.
- Chill Your Glasses: Pre-chill your serving glasses in the freezer to keep your milkshake cold and refreshing for longer.
- Crush Oreos Finely: For a smoother sip, crush the Oreos finely before blending them into the milkshake. You can leave some chunkier bits for texture if preferred.
- Adjust Thickness: Control the thickness by adjusting the amount of milk. Less milk for a thicker shake, more for a thinner one.
- Blend Well: Ensure a smooth consistency by blending thoroughly. However, avoid over-blending to prevent the milkshake from becoming too liquidy.
- Serve Immediately: Milkshakes are best enjoyed fresh, so serve immediately after blending to savor the perfect texture and coldness.
Conservation
Oreo milkshakes are like ice cream, if you do not drink it immediately its texture will change and will be more liquid.
You can always keep it in the fridge for 1-2 days, it will lose some of its creaminess, but will still be delicious.
Variations & Substitutions
- Oreo Chocolate milkshake: Use chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla and add chocolate sauce or chocolate syrup for a double chocolate experience.
- Mint Oreo Milkshake: Add a splash of mint extract or blend with mint chocolate chip ice cream for a refreshing twist.
- Peanut Butter Oreo Milkshake: Blend in a generous spoonful of peanut butter for a nutty flavor that complements the chocolate perfectly.
- Mocha Oreo Milkshake: Mix in a shot of cooled espresso or some instant coffee powder for a caffeine kick.
- Oreo Cheesecake Milkshake: Blend in a scoop of cream cheese and some graham cracker crumbs for a cheesecake-like flavor.
- Caramel Oreo Milkshake: Drizzle caramel sauce inside the glass before pouring the milkshake and blend some caramel with the milkshake for a sweet twist.
- Vegan Oreo Milkshake: Use dairy-free ice cream and plant-based milk, ensuring the Oreos used are suitable for vegans.
