All you need to make an adorable DIY snack cup is a single sheet of paper and this simple step-by-step tutorial. You’ll be folding your own paper cup origami in no time.

Fill them with popcorn for a handy origami popcorn box or chips and candy for a party bag everyone will want to take home.

Origami Cup.

Popcorn has always been one of my favourite snacks, especially the kind covered in crunchy caramel. As Summer is almost here I thought it would be fun to show you how to make and serve popcorn in their own little origami cups.

I love an easy origami project and these simple origami cups might be the easiest ones yet. They’re quick to make and practical too as they make fantastic pouches for snacks. You can use them to hold crisps, sweets, popcorn (how about some of this caramel Rolo popcorn) or even water (as long as you’re quick 😉).

DIY Paper Cup.

If you’ve been looking for a creative way to display snacks at your next party then I think you’re going to love these little paper cups. You can customise them to match any party theme depending on the paper you choose and they can be decorated with stickers or stamps.

Make a whole bunch in advance and lie them flat to store or pop them open and stack them one inside the other. Hand them out to guests as a party favour or display them on the side filled with a favourite snack.

Of course, you don’t have to fill them with popcorn, try mini pretzels or crisps for a savoury snack or a selection of sweets and marshmallows for a sweet treat.

Supplies:

• Origami Paperor Scrapbook Paper

Top Tips:

• To change up the size of your origami snack cup, change the size of your paper square.

I used a 12 x 12-inch piece of scrapbooking paper for these cups and found it made a good size for a single portion of popcorn. If you want to make something bigger, gift wrap or brown kraft paper would make a great alternative.

• I normally recommend using origami paper for any paper folding project but with this kind of project where you need the finished cup to be sturdy and it doesn’t have too many folds I think scrapbook paper or lightweight cardstock works the best.

I even have some printable origami paperyou can download and use for FREE. Simply download, print and cut into 7x7-inch squares.

How to make Origami Paper Cups.

1. Fold your paper square in half along the diagonal to make a triangle.

2. Fold the right side over to meet the left edge while keeping the top of the triangle parallel to the bottom.

3. Repeat by folding the left side over to meet the right edge.

4. Fold the top front flap down over the left and right flaps. Don’t worry if the flap sticks up, this will flatten out when you open your cup.

5. Flip your cup over and repeat by folding the top flat down on the other side.

6. Pop open and fill with your favourite party snack.
